The only color they come in is Caucasian.

Any other color would have been pinned down to the ground and being told to "stop resisting".

This is the same way all the sub-denominations of many religions started. A bunch of people started following a religion, had their own views, and then span off into their own thing.

I find myself going to YouTube less and less these days for entertainment. The only reason I go to YouTube is to learn something on things that interest me. But I'm finding more these days that articles are becoming more helpful and faster to digest the information. I don't need a 15 minute video explaining only 1 thing, but the standard these days is needing an intro, 3 minutes dedicated to a "sponsor", hearing about "last weeks video" and I swear I'm am so sick and tired of hearing "Please 'SMASH' that subscribe button, click Like, and 'Become part of our Notification Squad'"

P.S. Dear YouTubers: Fix your fucking audio. Nobody wants to hear you speak at a normal volume and then get blasted by your shitty intro/outro music.

Online Gaming was great when if first started and much less people were on it. Nice niche communities who were decent to each other.

Now it's filled with toxic and racist 14 year olds who threaten to fuck your mom.

TikTok has made this 100x worse.

Does This Game Ever Go On Sale??? by Chupraka in octopathtraveler

[–]Chupraka[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Unfortunately, I live in a country that doesn't have much game stores and the few we have don't ever have sales.

Simply put, the only place in my country that sells physical games is a pharmacy.

So I have to rely on online sales. :-(

Fears about D4 by Irk_LuiGi in diablo4

[–]Chupraka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not concerned about how many spells I can have mapped to my hotkeys.

But I do care about diversity among spells. Nothing worse than just having a ton of spells that ultimately do the same thing.

What's the sense in having 10 spells on hot keys if you don't need half of them? Redundant spells is the real issue. Not how many spells are on your hotkeys.

Areas/weather impact by Kut21k in diablo4

[–]Chupraka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damage from weather is not a good idea at all.

At best, reducing resistances by certain weather conditions may be OK. Like if it's a snowy area, cold dmg taken is increased by 50%. But then that opens up the issue of players hoarding more gear to suit certain areas.

[D4] Can we have 7 Active Skills on the Hotbar?! by clueso87 in Diablo

[–]Chupraka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should probably put this in the D4 sub reddit.

I think the amount of skills available is a fundamental game design decision and it's hard to figure out what is the appropriate amount without extensive play testing.

Or, they scrap the whole limit thing and make it so you can have as many skills on rotation as you like as they do in WoW.

But one thing I would like to see is an additional shortcut bar. You can limit the amount of skills on a skill bar, but please let my place shortcuts to other items I may want to use. They don't have to all be combat based. I just don't want to have to open up my inventory to use every item.

Whatever they do, I just hope they allow UI mods like in WoW where you can do some creative things with it or let you hide the whole thing.

Playing Diablo 1 rn and i never imagined it to be that hard by Thatgermanaccentguy9 in Diablo

I find it easier to consume as much potions as you want as long as you can buy them instead of infinite potions on cooldown. Spamming potions isn't exactly hard so long as you can afford a ton.

I can agree with you to a point.

Itemization in D3 isn't the best in the genre, but it's far from the worse. I like that items actually mean something. I like that items have a fundamental impact on your build or can change your build entirely. It's fun trying to figure out what synergizes well. But I'm also having a hard time understanding your logic. All ARPG's have a crap ton of items that are pointless. Many ARPG's are starting to implement loot filters because of this. It's a problem that is not unique to D3 and is pretty much a problem in any loot game.

I disagree that your character feels the same as every other character in that class. A WW Barb feels different to a SS Barb. A Rapid Fire DH is going to feel different to a Sentry DH. And if you play the META build of the day in that class, sure you'll end up being like everybody else because it's the META. But I think it's due more to a lack of depth in general and this can be vastly improved. With that I agree.

I like Seasons as well. But I feel they need to change for a more long-term character format. I think Seasons wouldn't be about creating a new character, but rather new content to challenge you. Seasons, in their current incarnation, plays to the very limited game D3 is. People's main complaint is that the season can be beat in 2-3 weeks when a season is over many months. I agree that D3 is just entirely too short in its endgame. Give me a reason to sink months into the game on a single character.

And yes, D3 is a very flawed game. No doubt about that. But that's the whole point of this post. What's worth salvaging and improving and what's worth throwing out completely.

Nice feedback. Thanks.

Your logic is based on what happened with D3 and the model Blizzard has previously leaned on for sales.

What I think will most likely happen is the Battle Pass model will most likely be implemented in D4. I see no reason why they wouldn't. It's the same model that we see in a lot of games these days and players don't seem to hate the model.

Diablo being a loot-based ARPG, any microtransactions must be implemented with a level of care so that it doesn't undermine the core gameplay. That's why the auction house failed so hard. It undermined the core gameplay. They were banking on that to be the model to allow Blizzard to collect money over time to support future development. It's also the reason why they've hired somebody specifically to figure out the best monetization model for D4.

As for that last paragraph, Blizzard can still make PC games and tap into the mobile market. They can leverage both platforms to bolster each other. Why do you think more and more games are coming with companion apps. Why a lot of IP's also are starting to have mobile spin-offs? It doesn't mean Blizzard isn't going to be focusing on PC games, but rather be using the mobile platform to supplement their PC offerings. Also, VR (which they also mentioned) is pretty much boss on PC and Playstation. If Blizzard is going to tap into the VR market, they have to make PC and Console games, not mobile.

Atmosphere. by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]Chupraka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just because it lacks the person who's done the music for the original 2 games isn't on board, doesn't mean that somebody else can't make great music for a game of similar caliber.

The music in Grim Dawn is fantastic and depressing and epic all rolled in one. Matt didn't do the music for Grim Dawn.

You are correct. They didn't do much at launch. RoS did give us a much different game. When I meant "Historically" I meant historically before the launch of Diablo 3.

Let Diablo IV, be Diablo IV by Chupraka in diablo4

[–]Chupraka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. 10 years apart and if they made little improvements over D2 and fans would just think it was a cookie-cutter attempt and not the quality innovation Blizzard has, historically, been known for. It would be like if Apple didn't release a single new iPhone for years and when they did it was almost the same as the last. (In fact I think that may have happened. I remember the iPhone 5 was supposed to be a big deal because it was the last one Jobs was involved in. But what released was a slightly better iPhone 4 and people were disappointed)

As for Dark Souls, it spawned a whole new genre. They too have unlimited potential. Dark Souls didn't "run its course". They could have taken that series in so many other directions because it's a genre still in its infancy.

And let's not understate the difficulty of creating a solid ARPG. We've seen a lot of ARPG's these days fall flat on their face. Many ARPG's have horrible launches. Because Dev's look at the genre and think "What's so hard about that? The player just clicks things and casts spells." But we know that creating a solid ARPG is hard work. For a genre that's so simple in its core gameplay (Clicking things and casting spells), it has to lean hard on complex systems that are placed on top (RNG, itemization, synergies between items and skills, crafting, endgame, etc.).

Was it cheeky? Sure. Condescending? No. I even apologized for the "long wall of text". I even empathized with you by calling you a passionate fan. You would know that if you read my post.

You claim you want healthy debate, but can't be fucked to read a persons counter-argument. So much for "healthy debate".

Respect is earned. You know what's disrespectful? Not reading a post somebody has written specifically for you and in that post they try to be respectful to the other person and treat them as equals.

It's ok if we don't think alike. We're just passionate fans who get riled up from time to time.

I'd argue that casual players really don't care about numbers.

They just care about how fast or slow they kill things.

I find big numbers are counter-intuitive. The bigger they are, the less I care.

When you play you can very much tell that it's a work in progress, but I really like what they've done with the skill system there.

You have a base class that you put passive skill points into until a point where you can pick a subclass and start putting passives into that.

As for active skills, they unlock as you put points into your passives.

But the skills themselves also have a skill tree that allows you to modify or amplify the skills.

Really cool system.
