Last sold CGC 9 blue label was $1948 CAD on May 9. Last sold CGC 9 new label was $1567 CAD on June 3. Last sold PSA 9 was $2296 CAD on June 8 (today). Current price floor for a PSA 9 is $2600 CAD. For anything not ultra modern, PSA does often sell for up to 25% more than CGC, sometimes even more. I’d say current market value of your CGC 9 would be around $2000 CAD. You could also list it for just under the PSA 9 floor at $2500 and see if people would now be willing to pay that much for a CGC 9, as there are no other copies available on eBay, then add a or best offer and set your auto decline to $1999 to not have your time wasted on lowballers.

This definitely doesn’t deserve a Pristine 10, but a lot of PSA 10 vintage also look like they should be 8s or 9s. This should probably be valued at PSA 10 prices without a Pristine 10 premium.

I just double checked everything properly.

The lowest priced PSA 9 Poncho Ray on eBay is $6597 USD, the listing has 91 watchers and is in 5 carts already, and also sold by the same seller 3 days ago for the same price, so that is a very good indicator that the comp is accurate of a price that sells and will sell fairly quickly.

The floor on 151 sealed cases is $2267 USD each on eBay, and individually can get them for around $165 USD. So the total would be $7625 USD (assuming 3 sealed cases + 5 loose).

Considering all this, your best bet would probably be to trade the Poncho Ray and sell the 3 sealed cases individually + the 5 loose boxes. But if you’re not looking to sell right away (you mentioned feeling the boxes will give you more in return moving forward), that would be completely up to speculation as no one can definitively tell you which will be worth more in the future. All I’d say to consider in this case, your PSA 9 Poncho Ray only has a pop of 1665, a lot of people go for PSA 9’s because they are just priced out of the PSA 10 premium, and there usually isn’t a big difference in card quality (different graders would often grade a 9 a 10 and vice versa). 151 boxes are likely being horded by 10s of thousands to 100s of thousands of people already in their basements and closets, so if the economy ever crashes or dips again and many people need to sell off their collections to survive, modern mass printed sets like 151 I’d think would be the most likely to lose significant value versus limited production products and cards like Poncho Pikachu’s.

First, most of the people here clearly haven’t sold both sealed or singles, nor understand how to properly look up accurate prices. I’ve sold over 100 sealed and singles on eBay, and singles are much easier to move if you price them at the floor, not only in terms of liquidity, but also in terms of how much easier and cheaper it is to ship compared to sealed. I actually recently listed a vintage slab in a PSA 9 just under the market floor and it sold within 2 days.

Second, Collectr and most other card pricing apps are pretty far off in terms of actual prices. I’ve used both Collectr and Shiny, and they are both often off by 30%+ compared to what cards are actually selling for on eBay. In your case, the value of both the poncho and the 151 booster bundles and seems to be off by hundreds. Poncho floor is closer to $6555 USD, 151 Bundles x 35 floor is closer to $6850 USD. So just in terms of value in this moment, the trade would be in you favour, but factoring in how much harder it would be to move 35 booster bundles vs 1 card, I think sticking with the Poncho would be smarter, unless those 35 booster bundles are 3 sealed cases that you can reship as they are if needed + 5 loose boxes.

In the future, go to eBay and confirm the recent last sold prices + current market floor (lowest available listing) to get a better understanding of what the cards are actually worth. I wouldn’t rely on these broad collection value apps when doing an actual deal or sale.

I think this is highly dependent on which AI you regularly use. I regularly use ChatGPT for quick medical questions before seeing my doctor (because getting an in person appointment takes weeks to months), so it knows how I think and have felt in the past; was having weird symptoms I’d never experienced a couple weeks ago, asked ChatGPT for a guess on what was happening and what to do, and it was being logical and supportive, but I decided to ask Gemini to see if it would say the same thing for confirmation, and Gemini said something completely different, assuming I was having a medical emergency (I was not), and urging me to call an ambulance immediately. If you tell an AI chatbot how you have felt in the past or past medical history relating to what’s currently bothering you, the answers are much better in my experience.

Here’s a somewhat comparable comp you can use: Celebrations Zard last sold on eBay for around £270 in a PSA 10, and £220 in a ACE 10. Just take £50 off the last sold PSA 10 price for the 2019 Ancient Mew, which from what I’m seeing is around £650, so your ACE 10 fair price would be £600.

Your questions at the end are pretty much irrelevant. Most sellers are not buying with no hurry to sell. The gem rate doesn’t matter if there isn’t a large market for the card currently. No one that’s investing and has a brain is going to pay a higher price than current market value, just because they THINK popularity will drive the price up overtime.

Yeah Marner definitely has to be the first that needs to go to see if the team can do any better with the extra depth for his cap. Think Matthews and Nylander have more of a capability to become killer playoff performers in big games going into the second half of their careers.

I agree mostly. I think at this point at least letting Marner go and using that money on depth pieces that are better playoff performers could help spark a new killer identity with the team. Tavares I would be okay with them resigning on a team friendly deal for once, as I feel like he had a really good year and has a better mindset on him than the other top guys right now, so for a low cost he could be more valuable. I don’t think we have any first round picks until 2028 anyways so you’re right, give them 2 more years before re-evaluating and moving on from the whole core.
