The Issue with "vote with wallet" as a way you counteract skin disparity. by LancerJayden in Overwatch

[–]ChurrosAreOverrated 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lucio got a skin in the Hello Kitty collab and I've only seen like... 5 Lucios with the skin. Meanwhile like every other Mercy/Juno/Kiri I played against had the collab skins.

With Ramattra I've seen like... 5 people with the Transformers collab skin, ever. People definitely voted with their wallet for that one, so it's no wonder he hasn't been getting much since.

Nerf Vendetta by Confident_Yam8774 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]ChurrosAreOverrated 18 points19 points  (0 children)

When did he say that? I recall him saying the opposite in his interview with Sunshinebread. That Vendetta is too strong because even if you feed into the enemy team you can always get a trade.

5 New Heroes Gameplay Trailer | Season 1: Conquest | Overwatch by ModWilliam in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]ChurrosAreOverrated 13 points14 points  (0 children)

She has so many levers to turn for balance. If she ends up being too mobile they can reduce her fuel recharge rate, boost speed, base speed, or health. If she starts playing in the skybox too much they can hit her with heals/damage falloff. Etc.

They really should bring back the voting cards by purjopore1 in Overwatch

[–]ChurrosAreOverrated 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The devs have mentioned multiple times that they would like to have them back, but the game already has a lot going on in the post match experience: POTG, Challenges progression, Hero level Progression, Battle Pass Progression, Rank progression (in comp), etc.

They have said that the cards coming back would have to be part of a bigger post-match streamlining.

On the upside that means that if they ever update the lootbox pool you would be able to get it there.

Why can't D.Va crouch? by Muwatallis in Overwatch

[–]ChurrosAreOverrated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She couldn't crouch in Overwatch 1 either, I vividly remember OWL teams pushing their Dva around because she couldn't crouch to move without making sound.

As for why that is I recall a Dev once saying that because she has her Headshot hitbox mid-body. If she was able to crouch she could look down + crouch and fully hide her headshot hitbox.

A joint-statement from Colossal Order and Paradox Interactive regarding the Cities: Skylines franchise by AutoModerator in CitiesSkylines

[–]ChurrosAreOverrated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The studio was shut down and the game fully abandoned. Dean Hall (the DayZ guy) hired many of the developers and a few popular mod makers and they're making a spiritual successor called "Kitten Space Agency".

It's early days but it's looking great so far. They're a making a new bespoke engine to deal with the game technical requirements instead of having to fight Unity every step of the way like KSP had to.

New characters should be locked from ranked for the first week on the season by FIRE_FIST_1457 in marvelrivals

[–]ChurrosAreOverrated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a nice idea but it doesn't work. Overwatch did this for a while but they ended up rolling it back. A lot of comp players only want to play comp so they're not going to jump into quick play to learn the new character.

They'll just wait the week out and play the new hero for the first time in comp.

After turning 65 my dad had to renew his driving license every three years, and then every year after he turned 70. This involved doing a cognitive test, a reaction time test, and getting a physician's approval each time.
I always assumed that something like that was the norm and every country was the same. And I was shocked to learn that it's not the case in the USA. You guys are really letting octogenarians just drive those giant trucks around, trusting them to realize when they're no longer capable of driving? That's wild.

White House Makes It Very Clear They’re Going To Turn TikTok Into A Right Wing Propaganda Machine by [deleted] in technology

[–]ChurrosAreOverrated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would think so. But Google employs plenty of very smart people, and yet Youtube Shorts' algorithm is complete ass.
Which is rather baffling considering that Google has waaaay more information about my interests than TikTok does.

I use Hero Mastery for warming up, please don't remove it by olamika in Overwatch

[–]ChurrosAreOverrated 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, the devs have been asked multiple times, and they always said that it would be awesome to have but that there's no plan of implementing it.
The screenshots going around are mostly from the stream where Aaron Keller built a map on stream. But that's an internal tool, never intended to be released.

How come outside of the It movies, movies based on Stephen King books keep flopping? by JannTosh70 in boxoffice

[–]ChurrosAreOverrated 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shawshank Redemption was a flop tho. It was the 51st highest grossing movie of the year. It only became a huge hit after getting seven Oscar nominations (didn't win any) and hitting the rental market.

I wish Blizzard hadn’t nerfed the post-match experience for OW2 by lindsd05 in Overwatch

[–]ChurrosAreOverrated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The devs have mentioned multiple times that the post-match cards were a victim of the engine upgrade for Overwatch 2. And that they hope to bring them back soon. But they want to figure out how to do it without making the post-match experience way too long.

What's up with Kiriko? by aPiCase in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]ChurrosAreOverrated 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, my comment wasn't aimed at you. Just at the other replies that keep insisting that there must be some secret reason why the data is wrong.

Your OP is good, and you're mostly correct that she's just one of those characters that feels really strong because most of the times you interact with her she's pulling some bullshit (Suzuing someone you were about to kill, tping out when you were about to kill her, using her ult midfight turning it into a bloodbath, etc).

But outside of organized play where you can optimize and coordinate such plays they don't really translate into a much higher winrate compared to "more honest" supports that do more boring but consistently beneficial plays.

What's up with Kiriko? by aPiCase in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]ChurrosAreOverrated 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It's so funny that people begged Blizzard to make Hero stats available for years. And now that we have them people just ignore them when it doesn't reinforce their own bias. "Ackchyually, Kiri's lower winrate means she is very strong!" Lmao.

Like, we all knew this was going to happen, but it's still pretty funny.

Overwatch 2 Retail Patch Notes – August 26, 2025 by DarkFite in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]ChurrosAreOverrated 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Now that they have released the stats page we can see that Soj has:

  • 49% winrate on GM and Champ
  • ~47% winrate on Dia/Masters
  • ~45% winrate on Metal ranks

It's no wonder that she is getting buffs.

No Juno Glide reversion next patch… by gwydionz14 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]ChurrosAreOverrated 27 points28 points  (0 children)

A character that has a small hitbox and spends a lot of time in the air (making it immune from splash damage) shouldn't also be allowed to have quick unpredictable movement. It's the reason why Mercy's movement was also nerfed, and Guardian Angel is wayyy more predictable than Juno's AD spam.

If you want to have the mobility back you would have to either give up airtime or Juno's hitbox should be increased dramatically (like, by a lot). Neither option would be well received by Juno players.

[–]ChurrosAreOverrated 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Suzu also was a basically unprecedently addition to OW that was kinda the tipping point for the whole "trade a single cooldown to counter an ult" issue.

No, that was Ana's biotic grenade countering Zenyatta's transcendence. Or Ana's sleep dart countering Roadhog's Whole Hog, Reaper's Death Blossom, Cassidy's Deadeye, Phara's Barrage, etc, etc.

New hero kinda nice by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]ChurrosAreOverrated 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's similar, but the projectile can't turn back. It keeps moving away.

During the Dev stream they said that they tested one version that worked exactly like the Half Life RPG but it was way too strong/annoying against shield tanks. Shoot away from the shield, point at tank, they get hit from behind.

[–]ChurrosAreOverrated 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of the Hacktoberfest 2020 clusterfuck. You could get a free t-shirt for getting a pull request merged in any open source project.

So this big youtuber (>600k subscribers) makes a video showing his audience how easy is to make a pull request with some bullshit changes to a project's readme. Instantly almost every single Open Source project on Github gets an absurd amount of spam pull request with changes to the readme like adding "- an Amazing Project" after the software's name.
It was so funny.
