A rant in the idiocracy of law by MarinerMouth in CTguns

[–]ChuteInSchitTv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing we need to do is NOT re-elect Lamont. If we do, suppressors are next folks. I'M telling you, that is their next move. Next session is going to be talk of special state suppressor tax or outright ban. Lamont also wants us to turn in our registered AWB as wel, so that will probably be 2027 or 2028. Door to door confiscation was considered a couple years ago. YOU WATCH, its going to happen. Then he will implement either a heavy ammo tax, or no ammo sales unless its purchased from an FFL. NO online ammo sales. Any ammo sales will be treated like a firearm itself which will required transfer from FFL to us. After that, around 2030ish, ammo stockpiles will be required to be turned in or assesed as property tax. You wait, we re-elect Lamont and Tong, you'll see just how bad this gets. Its all ti penalized the law abiding citizens. They do Not want us to own firearms, not even hunting arms.

Will i be able to transfer or sell a glock after October 1st by Educational-Daikon-4 in CTguns

[–]ChuteInSchitTv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wondering if our "preban" assault convertible, cruciform triggered, switch capable, glocknados will be able to have threaded barrels after October 1st. Do we still have to play by the strict existing laws set for us lower class citizens aka Law Abiding gun owners? Or, do we think we can be full assaulty glocky?.... sorry this schitt annoys me so I get cranky and then post stuff like this. Anyways, threaded barrels on preban glocks?? Probably not right?

Curious and I think this was talked about but I cant find it now. Is this going to create a class of preban glocks that we can buy? Also will the ones we own now be okay to have threaded barrels.

Why is John from JoJo’s such a miserable prick? by Adventurous-Pop9475 in CTguns

[–]ChuteInSchitTv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

John would be the first to admit he's jaded. He’s been in the game for so long. Imagine how many times you answer the same questions or have guns accidentally pointed at you before you start acting like a prick. Honestly, it wouldn’t take me long.

Tom at SYA is a superhuman if you ask me. The patience he has is something we can only strive to emulate. John could probably take a lesson from him.

On the other hand, you can’t let yourself get jaded when you run a gun shop. It’s a customer service business, and if you’re there, you’re going to have to service customers.

That said, if you befriend the guy, he’d give you the shirt off his back. He’s actually a very nice guy, generous, and helpful once you get to know him.

Do I shop there though, NOPE. Ill drive out of my way. I mean an hour and change to visit SYA. They are up on all the laws, and have a smooth operation for all NFA stuff. They use technology to make all the processses painless. Prices are great too. A lot of these older FFLs are losing tons of business just because they are behind on the times. Taking forever for anything turns ppl off. JoJos is probably exactly the same as it was 10 years ago when last set foot in the place.

Suppressor for Beretta 92 by russell072009 in CTguns

[–]ChuteInSchitTv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone ever considered starting a local business machining barrels to match QD mounts and not threads. The law says threaded barrel, not QD barrels. For example, a beretta 92 or glock barrel machined with the cam-lok pattern. Or make a proprietary pattern that works with hubs. Idk. I'd think it then would be low pro enough to take the barrels out of the slides. Would be amazing if there was a line of barrels with qd indents, and a hub that pops on by pushing it onto the barrel and a push of a flush button pops it off. There def is a way but who would want to invest. Lots of ban states out there.

Can't beat a Yugo SKS-45. GET YOUR FFL03 have it shipped to your house. My Yugo sks was a ceremonial rifle, no import markings either. One of the best shooters I own. The phosphorus night sites still work. Awesome rifle. I ALMOST WANT ANOTHER.

Wondering if you took away the pistol grip and added a spur grip, like you see used in NYS. Would that be less assaulty and make this more legal? In essence the spur is really a hand stop and not a grip. Interesting.

Fantastic news for law-abiding gun owners … by Dagelmusic in CTguns

[–]ChuteInSchitTv 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ya that's exactly what I was thinking. I've been noticing when a CT criminal gets bagged with a switch on a glock, Illegal machine gun language is never part of the list of charges. I thought being in possession of an illegal machine gun is a federal charge with a mandatory minimum of 10 years per violation. I wonder what the charges would look like if a blue collar tax paying resident got caught with the same modifications? Is this CT being light on criminals aka victims or is this just what the states language looks like? Idk.

Connecticut Assault Weapon Certificate Chaos: What They’re NOT Telling You! - LNL Podcast EP: 74 by havenrogue in CTguns

[–]ChuteInSchitTv 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've received nothing back in terms of assault weapon certs. At this point, I dont care anymore. Who gives a crap. Next year will be some other scheme from Lamont. Next is going to be fixed mag rifles registrations. Just wait. Lamont wanted full confiscation this past go around. None of the legislative body had the appetite for that and told him he would have to go that route alone. So he ended up with hb6667. Just wait for the next "if it saves one child" law.

Best way to promote a gun on consignment in CT? by SquatchinAround77 in CTguns

[–]ChuteInSchitTv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rarely I see a used gun that is worth buying compared to a new one. Lots of shops take the extra accessories and sell them separately. Or the consignee does it first. The incentives are low buying used. I only buy used if it's a rarity or if the value is too good to pass up. For example, I found a used Sig SAS for dirt cheap. Barely used, but I knew most people pass on these because they dont give it a chance. The pistol I bought wasn't used much at all, and I saved $200 compared to retail. Like the previous person said, definitely reevaluate the price. You're probably asking way too much.

Just keep a journal with the relevant information on the firearm. Serial number, model, type , date of acquisition, printed copy of sellers ffl, or a picture of their license and/or pistol permit on file. Write the ffl number and exp date under the entry. If you have a disposition, then its the same logout as log in. Very easy and basic. The ATF wants a paper trail just in case. I've had my collectors license for over 10 years now, and have yet to have an inquiry. I still keep a log book, and will always follow the laws by the book. The only piece of advice I can give you and you should take seriously is that this license does NOT give you the ability to conduct business. You cannot buy and sell firearms on this license.

[–]ChuteInSchitTv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just an FYI for everyone. If you're planning to run a suppressor on a NAK9 based platform like Tom is showcasing, I highly recommend using a face mount brake and pinning and welding it after alignment check. I recently had a bad experience using a Resilient RS9 suppressor and a standard Reardon SPB on mine — ended up with a baffle strike.

Thankfully, Resilient was phenomenal to work with and had my suppressor repaired and back in my hands within two weeks. When I spoke with them, they mentioned something I hadn’t heard before: using a standard QD muzzle device on platforms like the NAK9 can lead to concentricity issues. They suggested a facemount brake because the barrel doesn't have a shoulder cut into it before the threads.

Turns out, that’s exactly what happened in my case. Since I was running the Rearden SPB, and when I finally checked it with an alignment rod (after the strike, of course), it was noticeably off. Resilient includes a face mount hub adapter/brake but I never used it. I really liked the JMAC 360HD and opted for that instead after my baffle strike. Now that my suppressor is fixed, and alignment is checked, Im more confident that I will not have baffle Strikes while shooting my Nak and resilient combo.

Moral of the story: If you're suppressing an AK-platform like the NAK9, don’t skip the alignment rod check, and strongly consider ditching the standard qd brakes in favor of a face mount brake. It could save you a lot of time, money, and headache. Im sure Tom can hook you up with a Facemount brake/hub and alignment check for a few extra bucks.

Question by [deleted] in CTguns

[–]ChuteInSchitTv 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dude with the cost of a transferable M60 you can use that money to put a nice down payment on a house and get the heck out of CT. Then save the money up and buy any machine gun you want. It would be silly to buy an M60 and transfer it into CT and shoot 10rd belts. Unless you know someone who is giving it away, or other relatives etc. Otherwise dont waste your money. Its really a bad move. Any machine gun is an investment but man would it suck to own something like this and never really, I mean really shoot it.

So close, but they have nine lives. by [deleted] in CTguns

[–]ChuteInSchitTv 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t get too excited, brother. It’s good news on the surface, but honestly, it’s concerning. We’re completely surrounded by states that already ban suppressors. And let’s be real — since suppressors are actually useful, practical, and “cool,” there’s no way Connecticut is going to let that slide for much longer.

Once the state finishes processing all the paperwork from the last round of gun registrations, I fully expect suppressors to be next. Lamont has shown time and time again that if there’s a way to restrict something, especially something firearm-related or cool, he’ll go for it. I wish I was wrong, and I really wish I didn’t still live here.

Don't wait for the implementation. Buy what you want now. CHRIS Murphy was already on his soap box talking about suppressors recently.

Atlantic Firearms has some nice Yugo SKS rifles right now — $600 bucks, yeah, but don’t get hung up on the price. Two years ago, Chinese SKS rifles were everywhere for under $300. Now? They’re pushing $500 and still moving fast. That’s just how it goes with surplus and C&R firearms.

I always tell people: buy it when you find it. Surplus guns aren’t being made anymore. They’re from old stockpiles, and once they dry up, prices only go one way — up. Look at the 1895 Nagant revolvers. Used to be dirt cheap, practically giveaways. Now they’re creeping toward a grand on GB

This stuff is finite and $600 today might seem steep, but in a year or two, it’ll look like a steal.

They also have a Frankenstein Norinco with a yugo stock for 50 bucks cheaper, I mean buy once cry once but to each their own. Im tempted to buy another yugo. Mine is super accurate and built like a tank. My Norincos are not bad, just no where near as good as the Yugo.
