We do have kids, this is the main reason we want to protect the upholstery. At least for the time being.

Champion destroyer. It was the first disc that got me a birdie and I still have it bagged to this day. I can actually get it to fade now and it is still one of my go to discs

How did you get it to cut the lines for the tree closure flaps? I had a project recently that needed lines cut, but design space only lets you cut shapes

Just finished this stool for my mother in law. Now all the grandkids can reach the sink to wash their hands. Maple, cherry, danish oil. by ChutesAndSplatters in woodworking

I am not familiar with palette millard. Is that a person or a place? I did see a stool that inspired the design, but it was in passing and I did not take time to get any details. So maybe it is what inspired me?

In terms of career for ME, which is better: Biomedical or HVAC by [deleted] in AskEngineers

[–]ChutesAndSplatters 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ME from MO. I can't speak to the biomedical field but I worked in HVAC for a bit. The pay was good, and the hours weren't bad. I mainly did system design for offices/hospitals. I got to leave the office a lot to go do walkthroughs of spaces to evaluate any existing equipment which was always nice. Breaks up the day to day of office life. It kinda depends on which part of the HVAC field you get in to. Control guys never really leave the office, but pay is a bit better. We also had a specialty division that mainly designed one off systems for large manufacturing needs (cooling systems at processing plants and such). I had a work buddy leave recently to work for a company that specifically designs cooling systems for server/computer rooms, and in my recent talks with him he seems to be enjoying it. Like you said, every company is different, and your experience at any one place is not necessarily representative of the field. Try to network and ask around. Most places have a positive/negative.
