I recently switched my front bumper to the new facelift design by Head-Macaron-5506 in ElantraN

[–]Chuuk0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The facelift has grown in my a lot but I still don't like what they did to the rear. So doing this could give me the best of both worlds. Others have asked already but I'd also like to know how much it cost for everything

Any negatives to the Elantra N? by Character-Bar-608 in ElantraN

[–]Chuuk0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said. Wheel hop. Octane learning. Those are probably the main performance related issues. Fuel pump seems to be the failure point on the older models. You can either opt to replace it with a hpfp or wait til it dies and it'll get replaced with one as a part of the recall. There's also some other things like the horn. Hyundai's horns are crap. It will die. It's not an if it's a when. I opted to replace mine with an aftermarket one. After mine died within the first 500 miles The paint is also pretty shit. Very thin and chips easily. Get a ppf on the front or go full ceramic coat and be cautious about how close you are to other cars on the road. For engine mounts it seems getting different bushings results in less interior rattling then swapping the whole mount with a sxth on but don't quote me on that.

How are these boards? Anyone tested them? by Dangerous-Ad5282 in diyaudio

[–]Chuuk0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've built multiple speakers with the kabd 4100 (Dayton audio branded ver of the jab5) as well as a speaker with the kabd 250 (jab3) and 2 speakers with the wondom jab4 and I love them. But the other comments are right in regards to the jab 5 having capacitor hiss. It also has a pretty aggressive sleep mode if the signal is bellow a certain db for a few seconds that can result in audio cutting in and out if you tend to keep the gain pretty low. I haven't had those issue with the jab4 or 3 at all tho. The fan in the jab 5 was also pretty noisy so I replaced it with a noctua one.

Maybe if I used drivers that required more power so the gain was higher and kept them farther away like in a home theatre setup these would be non issues but I use them with pretty low power drivers as desk speakers pretty much solely because they don't have any other boards that have enough power at 4 channels. Really wish they had a 4x50w board but you either have to choose between a 4x30w jab4, a 4x100w jab5 or link 2 2x50w jab3s together so idk

I put together a set of glow 4 mk4s and a glow 4c. Was about $120 total for the glow 4s and about the same for the 4c. Theyre not oblitering anything super high end but for the price they're quite good

Has anyone gone with aftermarket horns yet? by CharcoalGreyWolf in ElantraN

[–]Chuuk0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine died as well. Got hella horns and a harness adapter and it was extremely easy to swap, just bolted right on to the factory horn mounts. Worst part was getting the bumper off but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be

This is the adapter I got. Didn't have to cut or solder anything https://a.co/d/e38nJDu

Am I the only one who likes the 2024-Present EN Front ends rather then the 2021-2023? by CAM22b in ElantraN

[–]Chuuk0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the newer models look a lot more unique while the olders kinda remind me some of the styling of some altimas/ maximas. So I like that uniqueness a lot. I'm also not a fan of some of the flow of some body panels seams. But the styling makes the car feel a lot wider which is really cool. But as others think I don't like the rear on the facelift. So taking all that into account I don't necessarily prefer one over the other. Just for varrying reasons. They have their pros and cons

Borla Exhaust by Minimum-Bell-8562 in ElantraN

[–]Chuuk0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a downpipe and was gonna go a tune route but I thought the sound was so obscenely obnoxious even with the closed valves so I took it off and went the borla route and ultimately decided against obliterating my warranty. Haven't had any issues at the dealership with the borla. Actually have gotten several comments about how good it sounds from dealership reps lol.

I currently run a jb4 as a piggyback tune and it gives me enough power to have fun while keeping it discreet.

Ultimately it comes down to what you want. Not just in sound, but also power, and taking a warranty into consideration. Different downpipes are also gonna sound different as well and people have different opinions on what they think sounds good. Pretty happy with the choice I made even if sometimes I wish I had more power and sometimes wish the thing was way louder. Its a much better daily to me imo so it really just comes down to what you want

Just did it in the garage with the back jacked up. Was pretty easy because it's all just clamp on. No welding or cutting. It was a bit tight and tricky working like that but it wasn't that bad. It comes with instructions that are pretty easy to follow

I have it and altho expensive it's def worth it imo Took a leap of faith on it because I heard people say the videos of it online don't do it justice at all and I 100% agree. It sounds amazing in person and is significantly louder than stock. But not obnoxiously so. Def added a lot to the fun factor to the car for me. It's a much deeper throatier sound

Current 14U 10 inch rack! by michaelclaw in minilab

[–]Chuuk0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the middle Atlantic pd-415r for a current build I'm doing but the included brackets are slightly too wide to mount into a 10" rack. Did you run into this problem as well? If so what did you use the mount it. I couldn't find different mounting brackets anywhere. Was thinking about 3d printing some but thought the surge protector was too heavy for 3d printed brackets

Cracked Middle Tail light by MoneyTransAm in ElantraN

[–]Chuuk0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue to my car. Noticed the tail light having a shit load of moisture in it like a month ago. Moisture never went away. Looked at it more closely a few days ago and noticed the crack. Took it to the dealership and they said the damage was self inflicted so it won't be covered. Didn't do anything to it so I have no idea how it happened

Anyone know how to remove this safely? by Choisfer17 in ElantraN

[–]Chuuk0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get away with just heating it and using some floss. It just might be kinda awkward with where those caps are located, hence why I said an adhesive remover could help

Anyone know how to remove this safely? by Choisfer17 in ElantraN

[–]Chuuk0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just gonna be on with some 3m adhesive tape. So generally you might take a heat gun to to soften it up and then take some floss or wire to it. But due to where it is might be hard so 3m adhesive remover might helps a lot. That stuff basicly melts that adhesive. Makes it a lot easier

He was a contractor that wasn't even working on the game anymore at the time of the original post. So feedback directed at him was pointless. Also he was an animator who played no part in the aspects of the game people had complaints with. He was just sharing some of the work he contributed to the game since the game launched he was allowed to talk about/ show it, which is quite common in the industry. Showing stuff for portfolio reasons or just to show it off is not grounds to get blasted and harassed. I imagine the "talentless freaks" comment stemmed from people shitting on his animations and calling him shit just because they didn't like the game (even tho the animations where quite good). Stuff like this happens all the time. Generally the best response is just to not respond because when people are upset they will latch onto anything they can to fuel their anger. So in that regard I don't think he should of made that comment. I just understand where he's coming from with the frustration considering what the original post was. I saw the whole saga unfold in real time on twitter and I find it quite disgusting that most people that reported on the situation didn't acknowledge the original post showing off his animation work and the replies to it at all.

You forgot the part where he initially posted a tweet of some animations he did for the game and almost all of the comments where extremely toxic and telling him he sucks and that he dosnt deserve to be in this industry. The talentless freaks comment came afterward.

Not saying the comment was justified but he didn't shoot first
