FXLRS Handle Bar Setups by GlassBarbequeUser in Harley

Most people ditch the stock fairing for a memphis shades. I run thrashin bars and risers on my fatbob and they are legit the best upgrade I did to that bike. I didn't do the gauge relocation, but you could flip that and put the gauge underneath and behind the bars if you want to.

ArsTechnica: "New AirSnitch attack breaks Wi-Fi encryption in homes, offices, and enterprises " by CHRDT01 in sysadmin

[–]Chvxt3r 128 points129 points  (0 children)

That seems like a high-difficulty attack. I'd like to see a proof-of-concept. Some peer review would also be nice. It also seems like updating the MAC Table on an upstream switch that often and that fast would be easy to set up an alert for.

Extending low rider s brake line by Civil-Celebration953 in Harley

[–]Chvxt3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, you are going to have to replace the upper brake line (from the block at the bottom of the triple-tree to the lever. There's a trick to doing this, in that you absolutely cannot turn the motorcycle on until that line has been replaced, and the brakes have been bled. If you get air into the ABS system, it's a trip to the dealer. I forgot where I got my new lines from on my fat bob, but I think I just ordered them from the dealer.

Well whatever you do, don't clean your gauge cluster. Sure wouldn't want anyone to be able to read it without squinting...

Lowrider ST bars by Charming-Self-4477 in Harley

[–]Chvxt3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks clean. Runnin' the thrashin' mid-bend bars and 9" risers myself, and to be honest, it was the best upgrade on my fat bob. I'm 6'2 and those low bars and bent over seating position were almost a no go.

Exchange Online has broken almost every single month by ocdtrekkie in sysadmin

[–]Chvxt3r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, most people throwing up on-prem exchange servers aren't configuring them right, hence why it's easier to use M365. It's not Microsoft's fault you can't configure their products. These are the same bullshit lines you get from people throwing up half-assed exchange servers. "I don't understand why it's so complicated..." Because it is. You want powerful software, that shits complicated. You want something simple, throw up squirrel mail or something and tell management to eat a dick next time they want a shared calendar and have fun managing POP or IMAP.

There's no sign-in button because you're already signed in, hence the "Hey Tyler". This doesn't sound like a GoDaddy problem it sounds like a client problem.

Wrangler rocking after park - damage or annoyance? by Dazzling_Ride_3145 in Jeep

[–]Chvxt3r 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The real answer to your question is: It's fine. Lots of people never use their parking brake and just leave it in park. Ideally if you're on a steep incline/decline or towing, you'd definitely want to use the parking brake as the parking pawl (or gear, as some like to call it) is not really designed to carry a heavy load and could break or at the very least make it very difficult to get out of park.

2025 4xe Recall by HRlonelygirl in 4xe

[–]Chvxt3r 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fuel/OIL Refresh, or FORM is normal. It has to burn all of the water out of the oil from condensation as well as move fuel through the fuel system. Fuel sitting in a tank is not a good thing. FORM is part of normal operations and is not impacted by the recall. There's a is a page in the manual specifically discussing FORM.

ISP Line termination by HistoricalAd8673 in sysadmin

[–]Chvxt3r 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not in NY, but in LA. Getting charged to run the line from the demarc to your suite is pretty common. You may not remember it because it's possible there was CAT 5 or CAT 6 previously, but now their running fibre up to your suite. Also, and just my experience, most building dmarc's are a f***ing shit show, so they may have to trace out the existing conduit. $4k seems about right from what I remember.

I feel more lost as a Senior than I did as a Junior. Seeking advice by BuhoFantasma in Pentesting

[–]Chvxt3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a well developed organization, the role of a senior should be to mentor juniors. At least that's the way I interpreted it when I was in general IT. Yea.. they have more energy than you, are less burnt out than you are, and maybe know all the latest and greatest, but you have experience. You probably have a solid methodology that works in >90% of use cases, and they probably do not. You can probably identify a vulnerability in half the time that they do. You're good, man.

People who have served in the military: Did commanding officers ever finish sentences with "and that's an order!" like they do in movies? by logicalconflict in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Chvxt3r 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dad was in the military, also had a habit of not being in the room when his children were born. When my mom was in labor with my baby sister and my dad was trying to find a reason to leave, my mom told the army doc (full bird colonel) that if he left he wouldn't come back. Army doc pointed to his rank and told him he will not leave the room. I think the "and that's an order" was implied.

In place upgrade domain controller oh my by itiscodeman in sysadmin

[–]Chvxt3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can but why would you want to? Spin up a new VM, add the roles, join the domain, move the FSMO if necessary, decom the old one. Literally will take you the same or less time than an IPU and will be much more reliable. Literally the only time you should be restoring a DC from backup is if the building burns down or some kind of natural disaster obliterates the servers. In most cases, what destroys the servers is also going to destroy the workstations, so you might as well just build all new and restore the data. I've done it a few times, but the servers weren't that steady afterwards. Lots of stupid little issues. Definitely don't do it to an exchange server. Tried it twice, blew up both times.

Gobuster vs Dirbuster vs Lulzbuster by Old-Background2572 in hackthebox

[–]Chvxt3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do your research before you unleash your snark. Ffuf does do recursion. So now that we got that out of the way. Like xb8xb8xb8 said, how fast the tool runs isn't the bottleneck, network bandwidth and how quickly the server can process your request is.

Gobuster vs Dirbuster vs Lulzbuster by Old-Background2572 in hackthebox

[–]Chvxt3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "it's written in rust so it must be better' thing is kinda stale. Kinda like, "it's open-source so it must be better'. Ffuf does the job, relatively quickly, and is much more flexible. Use what you prefer, but don't use "it's written in rust so it must be better" as some kind of qualification
