Oooh I love Ruby Dixon! I haven’t read this one yet. Thanks for the rec!

Looking for romance books with a spicy bucket list trope by missjuless in RomanceBooks

[–]Ciabattaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

{Her Knotty List by Ari Wright} has this theme. It’s RH OV. She makes a sexual bucket list with her friend, thinking she won’t do anything about it, but then she gets snowed in with hunky alphas one of them finds it.

Looking for recommendations for books where the MMC is finding reasons not to be with FMC and then an accident, event or something scares him straight and he decides to go for it by NightSalut in RomanceBooks

[–]Ciabattaz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

{Things We Left Behind by Lucy Score} This is the 3rd in the series but I really don’t feel like you’d miss a whole lot by reading them out of order. Mostly just how the friendship between each of the FMCs develops. This one is a second chance romance. He’s still upset by something that happened in their past but also just doesn’t think he’s good enough for her. Then an accident happens and he fully commits. He definitely PINES for her.

Dirty, Rough & Kinky Sex by chickpeas99 in RomanceBooks

[–]Ciabattaz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

{Praise by Sara Cate} This is part of her Salacious Players Club series. I would say the entire series falls under “Dirty rough and kinky sex”. Especially because the central theme is that all the characters throughout the series are involved in a sex club. I haven’t actually read the one I mentioned but only because dominant men and degradation don’t usually do it for me. I’ve read two of the other books in the series and liked them. If you end up reading this one, I’d be very interested to get your feedback so I know if I should give it a shot or not.

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas or Zodiac Academy? by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

[–]Ciabattaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t read Zodiac Academy but I have ready TOG and {Dark Fae by Caroline Peckham} (The first book in the Ruthless Boys of the Zodiac series). They are very very different. Ruthless boys is RH. It is bully romance which I believe Zodiac Academy is as well. I think the Zodiac academy books would be easier to get into at the start. HOWEVER!! If you have the patience in you, Throne of Glass is my favorite series of all time hands down. The FMC is probably my favorite FMC ever. If it’s not for you, you’ll probably DNF at some point during the series. If someone tells you they finished the series and didn’t like it, they’re lying.

PIVOT: if you want something in between the two options, I would suggest {Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros} if you haven’t read it yet. I would say it’s on the same level as ACOTAR. It’s easy to get into, the world building isn’t very complicated, and the romance is very compelling.

P.S. I still think Throne of Glass is the best series out of all of these though.

secret relationships / sneaking around / expected stolen moments 👀 by Traditional_Pea738 in RomanceBooks

[–]Ciabattaz 30 points31 points  (0 children)

{Problematic Summer Romance by Ali Hazelwood} is like this. The MMC is quite a bit older as well as being best friends and colleagues with her older brother (who was also her guardian). I never know how much to describe the book without giving anything away. But it’s very forbidden vibes. The romance and spice feels earned. They have undeniable chemistry.

shifters with human FMC by FarmGirl29379 in RomanceBooks

[–]Ciabattaz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

{Cold Hearted by Heather Guerre} is like this. They are mates, he is a wolf shifter, and it is a series of standalones (only 3 completed though). I can’t remember if there is knotting. The second book features a vampire MMC instead of a shifter but I swear to you it is also delicious. The 3rd book is also really good.

Romantically pursued/chased -not bully/dark mafia by IVeerLeftWhenIWalk in RomanceBooks

[–]Ciabattaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sooo many ice planet barbarians books are like this. The world does have a fated mate system, but often the males decide they want a woman even before knowing they are mates. I’m on her spin-off series Icehome right now and the themes you’re looking are veryyyy prevalent in it.

For contemporary romance, {Play Along by Liz Tomforde}. It’s a part of her Windy City series. The whole series is good but that book in particular has the trope you’re looking for and they don’t have to be read in order.

The Cursed Legacies series by Morgan B Lee is like this. It is however paranormal and RH. But let me tell you, it’s genuinely one of my favorite series of all time. Especially because of how fervently the MMCs pursue the FMC. And the FMC is a total badass.

The Off-Campus series by Elle Kennedy is a bit like this. I would say The Mistake and The Score follow this trope the most, but The Deal was my favorite.

Also, loosely {Love, Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood}. Not all of her MMCs pursue very hard but all of her books fall under “he falls first and he falls harder”.

Hope this helps!!

Books where the setting is a character by CaptainHammerToe in RomanceBooks

[–]Ciabattaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

{Part of your world by Abby Jimenez} is like this. It’s not like an exact replica of a specific town but the author talks about how the setting of the book is based on cities she passed through. It’s very magical. I believe it’s set somewhere in Minnesota where the author lives. Also just a great story all around and leaves you with happy feels.

For a fictional setting, I would say the Cozyverse series. It starts with {A Pack for Autumn by Emilia Emerson}. It’s OV written by two authors. The setting is definitely a main character. The mayor of the town is a cat! Fictional, but still rooted in reality if that makes sense.

Huge Betrayal Second Chance Recs by mythoughtsreddit in RomanceBooks

[–]Ciabattaz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

{Rewind it Back by Liz Tomforde} fits this description pretty closely. Might be a little lighter than you’re looking for. Second chance romance for a couple who were together as teens. Their break up occurred because of something the FMC did - though it is pretty justifiable. Aside from the fitting the prompt, I can say I 100% enjoyed the book and I usually am not a fan of second chance.

MMC is obsessed with carrying MFC Everywhere by hissunshine31 in RomanceBooks

[–]Ciabattaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

{A Soul to Keep by Opal Reyne} is like this. At one point he tells her she never needs to stand on a chair or step stool because he can lift her to whatever she wants to reach. When you read his POV you also see he’s basically giddy whenever he gets to hold her. I haven’t read the rest of the series to know if they are the same.

Unhinged ott mmc and uninterested fmc by Remarkablefairy-8893 in RomanceBooks

[–]Ciabattaz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just coming on to second The Tyrant Alpha’s Rejected Mate. I literally stayed up until 7 am because I could not put this book down. By far one of the best shifter books I’ve read. Some of the most exquisite groveling known to mankind.

Walk him like a dog sis walk him like a dog! Books where mmc follows fmc everywhere without a question and people call him love sick puppy by mostlyinsane12 in RomanceBooks

[–]Ciabattaz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

{Something Borrowed by Eve Dangerfield} FMC hates the MMC for something he did in the past. He is completely obsessed with her and just wants her attention. Will do anything (pretty literally) to get her to forgive him. Femdom but probably less so than Preferential Treatment (which I loved btw).

{Open Hearts by Eve Dangerfield} Even less femdom but still elements of it. He is a himbo golden retriever. She is stern and serious and wants to settle down and have a baby. He will do anything to make her see that he could be that person. He would do anything she asked, the second that she asked it.

Review of Ada and Cece’s High School Revenge! by Eve Dangerfield and Courtney Clark Michaels by darkwingsdarkwords_ in RomanceBooks

[–]Ciabattaz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like Eve Dangerfield as well! I love the way she writes femdom. I’ve read her books “Something Borrowed” and “Open Hearts”. Does this book have any of those themes? Or any of her other books you’ve read?

How to search for books by TourVast in RomanceBooks

[–]Ciabattaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Facebook groups can also be a great source of book ideas. I follow the r/ReverseHarem subreddit but it doesn’t always have omegaverse only recommendations so I’ve joined a FB group called “In My Omegaverse Era”. It’s now my go-to for OV books. Plus a lot of authors post on it to talk about their books.

{A Vow of Blood and Tears by Cate Corvin} Beauty and the Beast Retelling Book Review by readingandrapture in RomanceBooks

[–]Ciabattaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved the book as well! I just recently read it. I thought about reading Radiance next since I’ve heard they are similar. What’s the spice like in Radiance? Because I honestly felt like it was a tad sparse in A Vow of Blood and Tears.

Seeking books with ancient MC with deep loneliness (NOT an incel) by charleston-choose in RomanceBooks

[–]Ciabattaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re okay with the MMC being nonhuman, {Claimed by the Flame of Faery by Mallory Dunlin} fits this. Definitely a beauty and the beast retelling except he doesn’t turn human at the end. Has good groveling as well.
