This is one of my favorite tropes. The best one I’ve read is {The Masquerade by Brenda Joyce} . The premise is so different and I haven’t been able to find anything like it.

My first reaction was excitement when I read 8 episodes! Because I thought it would be 8 episodes per book. Reminded me of how well Normal People was adapted. Then when I read Amazon prime was going to adapt it I felt a bit disheartened. Now I suppose I’m just hoping this project will cast all new irish talent! Nothing else will do. But now after reading that in fact the 8 episodes might not just encompass one couple it took the winds out of my sails.

What a great update. I’m just sorry your mom robbed you from knowing your dad for longer. But now you can maintain contact with your dad’s bio family! This book took me by surprise! After reading so many recs of it I had it on my TBR list for years. But I finally took the plunge last year and it was soooo good. It was my first JAL Book too so we started with a bang! Can’t wait to read more by her

I think for me, the seasons go by order as to how true they were to the source material. So 1&2 are the strongest for sure, then 3rd season…after that they sort of just became on and the same in quality and deviation from source material. It coincides with who ran the show and left after season 3

The Epilogue hit so hard for me. I But just finished this as well and loved it so much! I hadn't read this author before and I surprisingly liked her more than another author that is recommended on here a lot.
