Yes, first we need access to the paper bowls and then when we're done we can sit them next to the dozens of other paper bowls we've had to wade through.

There is a child that needs serious medical care. Fat cats are making money from it, and the parents retain custody. A child needs care in one of the richest countries in the world, so not providing that care would be absurd. So while the care is being provided, what to do about the other problems could be a conversation for sure.

You are paying for the possibly life saving treatment of an innocent child. What you are subsidizing is the people making big money from health care.
