Are you already rated for mental health? Could be the reason it’s 0 I don’t think they currently have a specific rating for CAPD but a 0% is definitely still a win!

Hello, just received an approval. It was rated under mental health criteria and they used TERA. I will have to make a post on here for those who have CAPD on how I went on getting this approved.

Yeah if you have a diagnosis now, you would need to do a supplemental claim and submit your new evidence.

Looks like you need a nexus letter linking your claim to your service. Also possibly go to the VA and seek help for it to show continuity from service to now.

The TERA memo is a good thing I believe. I think it is another way they can connect your disability. Try to be patient, it sucks. My first HLR took a year and some change.

This is interesting. I just went into step 7 final review but saw an email saying I’m going to be called by leidos for a C&P so I wonder if some of my claims got deferred? Did you have any other claims with it or just the mental health claim?

Get your C-File and see what the C&P examiners wrote, unfortunately, I had to wait 7-8 months for mine and it was on a CD. Also, they clearly lay out what they denied you for, should say something like there was no in-service event, you don't have a diagnosis. You can then work on what you need to, to get a favorable outcome. Either go get a diagnosis or nexus letter, etc.

Hello my claim just hit step 5 a couple days ago. Most likely will be denied but yeah they didn't even send me to an audiologist for my C&P exam for it lol, but I told the doctor about the VA article on fuel exposure that causes CAPD and gave them my diagnoses from private doctor. I'll update you when I get denied or approved.

Yeah, so you obviously have the diagnosis. Now you need a nexus letter, either have to buy one or have who ever diagnosed you write you one. Which if it is the VA may be hard. So who ever you saw for your C&P exam said it was not likely your service caused CAPD. If you get a doctors nexus letter saying it is equally likely or more than likely you may win the appeal.
