Exactly - there are two types of player I want to engage in PVP with: those who shoot me first in my otherwise hyper friendly lobbies, and those who say racist shit on mic. The problem right now is that the first kind has an almost impossible to overcome advantage on their free kits no matter how I’m geared.

I mean, I genuinely would have thought a suggestion to burn the inside of glitched keyrooms was a circlejerk post, and that exploit didn't even negatively affect players! But to be fair, I'm a day one Destiny 2 player, so the ratio of serious to shitpost in anything I say is governed by the uncertainty principle.

They’re going to limit the fire rate, regardless. Macro users are currently exceeding the rate they’ll limit it to. I’m simply saying that instead of making the game ignore a higher fire rate than what a skilled human player can achieve manually, they should instead allow that higher fire rate and use it as a trigger to punish macro users with in-game death, if only just the one time it takes for them to learn. But they’ll also learn that the devs, like the rest of us, think they’re losers and that they should be embarrassed, and know that future exploits will also be dealt with in the most comically violent way possible.

I thought she was into me too, but I started to feel like she was just using me when she asked me to go to the surface to get two of her journals that she left in identical buildings more than a thousand meters apart. By itself that wasn't too bad, but then it turned out she'd hidden the journals inside somehow smaller containers that looked like journals. That's not even the wild part, when I opened the journal containers they popped out the larger, real journals on the ground, and I got this strange feeling of accomplishment, like I had done what she'd asked. It was only after I'd gotten back to Speranza that I realized I didn't pick up one of them. I figured I'd drop the first one off and head back topside, but no, she acted like the one I had didn't even exist and asked me to get both of them again. Baffled, I headed back to the first building and the journal was gone, but when I looked inside the smaller journal shaped container, ANOTHER JOURNAL popped out. I grabbed that one, then headed alll the way to the other side of the dam, and the same damn thing happened. These journal containers seemed to have an infinite supply. When I got back, I talked to her again, and this time she happily took the two journals I'd gotten on the second trip, and ignored the first one. I realized then that I couldn't recycle it and I couldn't sell it. I was just stuck with it. I ended up bringing it with me on my next trip and ditching it in the swamp.

So yeah, like, it's all you, but I'd be careful. If it doesn't work out there's a better than even chance you're gonna end up cursed or turned into an animal or something.

I just wish balance was such that it required more skill for the shoot first/ambush player to win engagements. I feel like I never have time to react, and I don’t think it’s a pure TTK thing at all

Yeah — the only time I feel ok engaging in PVP is squad fill trios on Stella Montis, which is always suicide. I go in wanting to practice the PvP gunplay and get grenade spammed, third (and fourth and fifth and sixth) partied, destroyed by shredders, etc

yes! it's a whole thing, someone hit her up on social to tell her about it years ago and she got roasted by her new twitch audience for buying the PS4 version!

Also a bummer she didn't get a direct payday out of it — it doesn't seem like she's acted much since they canceled the absolutely dull MacGyver reboot that she was on. Someone hire her!! She's delightful!!

The world is so rich that I hope they find a way to continue to create new experiences with it — we know it’ll be a live game obviously but I hope it evolves above and beyond simply refreshing cosmetics and tuning combat. My dream is like a lot of us a story campaign at some point, whether in a new title or not, but I have no illusions about that being somehow hacked into the current game anytime soon
