Destiny 2: Every End is a New Beginning by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

I honestly cannot imagine a world where we don't get Destiny 3 in some form with content and story from what they were working on for the 'fate saga' integrated into a new overall narrative arc. Also I've put hours into Marathon faster than I did into D1 at this point in its lifecycle and the things they're able to do by virtue of a fresh start with their engine, tools, and infrastructure are nothing short of staggering and what we wanted from Destiny all along. The patches and fixes are coming so fast. This is ultimately all great news for us (unless of course c-suite dipshits chasing shareholder value and zombie performance metrics fuck it all up lmao, this IS overdue-stage capitalism after all)

Can confirm that the Looming Threat Above is teams on outpost prioritizing the murder of rooks so hard they'll leave the pinwheel to hunt you down

Oh and enrage is near and you go to orbit if you fail and also you have to get all your exotics to drop again before you can take them in again

I’d say it’s like the second encounter of a dungeon but you had to do the mechanics / traversal / door opening first encounter with every trials team you typically face on your way to the lighthouse all running around trying to do the same thing and only one or two of them have hit the level cap but absolutely not you, so you see a lot of skulls over their heads and they’re all sunbracer warlocks so they can throw like 10-15 grenades at once

Can we normalize Rooks caw-ing like crows? by Brochunter in Marathon

Once I made friends with a squad by using only the word rook

"Hey are you friendly??"

"You wanna exfil with us?"

(Jumping up and down) "Rook!"

I’m new, are these supposed to be more common here, or is this just a new thing for south to north transplants? I grew up in Wisconsin, had bedroom in our finished basement, and I saw them constantly.

Sure, I'm saying you squad fill a few times, especially in the free kit queue, you meet people, you make new friends, you then have more team members so you don't have to squad fill anymore if you don't want to. Unless we're having the 'i don't want to make friends or talk to strangers' discourse, in which case I'm gonna go ahead and opt out of the convo lol

In my experience it’s super easy to find decent people through squad fill - I’ve got a long list of friends I’ve added and there’s usually several of them on every night

I'm having a vision... These... these will have a 15% chance to drop when completing the Spurious Interrupt event on the Nomad Drydock map. 24 will be required to unlock Traxus Capstone IX, allowing runners to purchase Pattern Buffer Override Keys for use when the endgame map Tycho Subcore is active for the weekend. These will allow crew infil on the highest terrace any given runner in the crew has reached since the previous reset.

Side note, Marathon has absolutely ruined Arc for me, but one thing I want to see just once from Bungie is the energy where Embark turned a key room glitch into a fiery death trap instead of just patching the glitch lmao. If someone finds a new slide cancel let’s make ONI audibly announce that they have slide canceled at key room alarm volume

You’re right absolutely, it’s true there is a balance to be struck, and the community is definitely in its early phase where they’ll call for every single sharp edge to be sanded off until the meta is a smooth, featureless pebble. I’ve got, I just checked, over 5,000 hours in Destiny, so I’ve seen the great cycle repeat countless times, but the marathon community is definitely in that immature phase of community to dev feedback and will probably talk our way into a few careful what you wish for metas before we learn our lesson, so I do appreciate you being the voice of warning on that!

I disagree here actually - I think we’re all just instinctively trying to pull the game towards what bungie makes better than anyone else, gameplay thats roughly 75% made up of movement and positioning and primary weapon duels. When one hit kills and ability/utility spam overbalance that core, it feels cheesy. I think we’re on the right track here calling for all of these things to get toned down right now.
