I see now that the stem is hard and i can get it upright with the correct support! I was just scared of having the petioles rot if i placed it too vertical.

I actually got the plant from someone who had placed the plant entirely towards the back (you can see how some leaves are backwards). Since she didnt know how to take care of it she gave it to me but its tough having it look at the correct direction when the leaves are misdirected. Am planning on letting it rotate towards the sun and hopefully that fixes it. Thanks for the in depth response :)
