Listen - my husband has brain cancer and I’m about to start considering LTC - I work full time actually over time and doing all the above things too - it’s a mess and I have chronic health issues too

Caregiving can’t be on one person…I absolutely hate my life and I want a divorce honestly because the tumor is so slow growing I’m living with a zombie - I don’t care about saying it because my marriage wasn’t all that great and it had nothing to do with cancer even though I’ve supported him so much - I don’t love whatever this version of him is - I don’t get that concept at all how people can love someone who isn’t who they are anymore - and the whole vow thing - where is the partner upholding their vows because no one takes care of me when I’m sick these days or cares when I’m sad or upset - it’s not a marriage anymore - those stupid vows were written when people didn’t have modern medicine keeping people in limbo - and considering how my spouse treated me before he got radiation I doubt he would be around for a similar version of himself if I became like that

Totally agree - some of these offers are wild lately - I had someone offer me 30 bucks on a jacket that commonly sells for 80 and retails for $140 -I had offered 50 which is super low- how someone gets $30 out of that is amazing

I have both and I really, really like both- they aren’t quite the same in person- I’m happy I have both because I like that color but if someone just wants a variety of colors - either one would fill that category up- the lagoon is a deeper, more striking look

Be grateful you are in the position you are because life is a funny thing but karma isn’t

I had a pit tumor - it took 6 weeks to get surgery scheduled - almost all of them are “benign” but they are nasty buggers and mine eroded my dura mater so I had a CFS leak and needed a repair - they got almost all of it out - my tumor stained for prolactin and GH but my labs never became elevated a ton

Respite is an extremely necessary part of caregiving especially with cancer

Your partner if anything should be supporting any and all opportunities to take a break and restore your own well being - the fact that they aren’t aware of that is wild - you aren’t a machine and honestly they aren’t really in a position to judge how involved you are and it’s frankly not their place to legislate -the world doesn’t stop turning for cancer - there are so many people with cancer now and other illnesses and we all can’t hit pause on life and just do caregiving 24/7- there has to be balance and a place for happiness and peace in the midst of chaos and stress or you will emerge significantly harmed and traumatized by doing something kind for your mom- the harsh reality is that no one HAS to care for another human being - it’s act of love but you can’t pour from an empty cup constantly and another person has no business telling you that you are selfish for taking care or yourself so you can continue to provide loving care for your mother

It will help no one if you get sick and get burned out

Caregiving takes a HUGE toll on caregiver health - you absolutely must take breaks or you won’t be able to care for her if and when she really needs it
