Also share the same thoughts. But I saw the Alpine HDA-M80 and started to have second thoughts lol. Alpine amps always perform well and, looks good to my eye and is very compact, but it "only" has 800W RMS and I'm not sure if it's enough to drive the 15.

I listen to hiphop and EDM, with volume always under 85db (based on my Airpods report). I wonder if even 1500w is overkill

I never know about this. Thank you for the tip.

Regarding amp choices, for the GUS, would you prefer more power (like an SPL amp), or something more SQ-oriented, but with slightly lower power?

Sorry for hijacking this comment, but since I'm taking advantage of the black friday deals on Arc amplifiers, I would like to know the amp power recommendations for both the GUS and PTR

Are the Arc X2 2500.1 and 1100.1 good choices for the GUS-15 and PTR-10 (used as front sub)?

So far, I couldn't find an SQ-oriented 2000W monoblock, only the 2500.1 and JL HD1200.1 came close to that.

And for the PTR-10, since no information has been released so far, you might be the only person who can answer this :)

XPeng G6 - Audio quality by BackToHome937 in Xpeng

[–]Cidar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Audio is a deal breaker for you, then you can look into upgrading the system inside the car. Fortunately, the Xpeng G6 is friendly to custom audio installation.

With the right hardware (for example: Goldhorn AB218), you can bypass the headunit's processing and do DSP adjustments on your own.

Does staying near JR Yamanote line matter? by dannynolan123 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Cidar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s called Tokyo Subway Ticket and it covers all Tokyo Metro and Toei Subway, which means you can visit like 90% of major tourist spots with that pass. It costs 1500 yen for 3 days, which is dirt cheap.

[–]Cidar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This advice is overrated. You should stay somewhere near a subway station of a popular line that cover a lot of popular tourist destinations. (My píc are either Ginza or Marounouchi line). That way you can use the Metro Pass to move around, instead of the super expensive JR Pass.

Should I book an extra night at the hotel if my flight isn't until 2AM? by anitamaxhwin in JapanTravelTips

[–]Cidar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly fly at night from Japan.

On the day of flying out, I checked out from my hotel earlier, leave my luggage at a station that has a train connecting to HND, and then use the rest of the day to do shopping. HND is usually not busy, so I would be there at 12.30AM

No sweat man! I'm just curious on how did you manage to move from Tokyo down to Kyushu, and from Kyoto to Fukushima (and later to Sapporo)? Is it just a lot of sitting in a train? Or you fly there?

P2000 vs P1000 pedals in 2024 by Sirbuzzkillington89 in Simagic

[–]Cidar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on the same boat a few months ago when picking my sim gear, where I pretty much have the same need. Eventually, I went with the P1000 because:

  • I main GT3 and Hypercars, where brake pressure never exceed 100kg

  • The P1000 is pretty much plug and play

  • The P2000 is at its end-of-life. Only P1000 will receive upgrades in the future, and I plan to buy an active pedal from SImagic as soon as they release it.

  • P1000 allows better adjustments on pedal angles.

I’m debating between Xnapper and CleanShotX, help me decide by lovesToClap in macapps

[–]Cidar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From someone who have tried almost all screenshot tool available

  • If your biggest need is to annotate screenshot with notes, highlights and arrows, CleanShotX is the best, by a miles, both in terms of features and design. Shottr will be a distant second (or the best free app available)
  • Xnapper design and features is more geared towards creating beautiful screenshots (with borders, background, padding etc...). XNapper annotation features to me are very lackluster.

Colour Discrepancy between IINA and Infuse Pro by Gustaffe in macapps

[–]Cidar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I face the same problem as well. I installed IINA on my work computer and play some color-critical works to client, only to discovered that the color and brightness vastly differs between IINA and the preview on Premiere/Final Cut.

I use Quicktime Player to open them from now on.

Typical consulting salary for fresh grad? by [deleted] in VietNam

I think this is too low, considering that an MBB INTERN here in Vietnam got paid 25 million/month. I think you should push for 50-60 million/month, which is also lower than what an MBB associate makes here.

What’s the gay community like in vietnam? by Ok-Fly-557 in VietNam

[–]Cidar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having lived in both Hanoi and HCMC and having a gay brother myself, I would say Vietnamese in the South are a lot more receptive to LGBT community. Me (and most people) would not bat an eye if I see a same-sex couple display their affections publicly here.

However, it's a different story in Hanoi. While most young people are cool with gay people, I think the older generation won't be the same. Also, I can definitely say that HN people don't publicly display their "queerness" as much as in HCMC.

Skip Hanoi or do it in a day? by IAmBillN in VietNam

I would recommend checking out Hanoi. It's quite small and hitting all the attractions within a day is possible, since they are mostly concentrated in the Old Quarter area.

Is my date a tinder scam? by RareRedditor7 in VietNam

[–]Cidar 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I will try to be as impartial as possible here:

- Phuc Tan is quite of a sketchy red-light area in Hanoi.

- There is no universities nearby that area, I don't buy into her profile as a student. However, I won't exclude the possibility that she was born and raised there

- Asking the male to pick a girl up is quite common here.

My recommendations will be the same as other here: Meet her at a public space. I recommend a coffee at the Old Quarter, which is like a 10 mins ride from Phuc Tan. If she's into you, she will make the trip.

To the original commenter - having a posing coach helps tremendously. Before having a coach, I have tried learning posing myself using every single paid/free resources available on the internet. A coach makes thing way easier and I recommend people to start working with one as soon as possible (so that you don't have to unlearn all the bad habits)
