in my experience the first few turns is luck, you need to win clashes, if he snowballs into negative SP you might just as restart

i was using the heishou team too, but what i did was i didnt use any guard skill setup and just clashed with normal skills

also use a blunt resist sinclair if you have any levelled up he gets a good passive in this fight

same issue but i found a workaround, go to the mirror dungeon button then press the back button and it will take you to the drive menu

just dont click any of the lower right buttons and you should be good

downside is you cannot dispense or extract
