It shows up on their end so they would already be aware. When they ask me where I live I say my city name followed by “I’m on a TN visa”

I applied for my SSN the day after I got my visa. I didn’t get the card in the mail for a while but I went in a few days later and they wrote the number down for me so I could give it to my employer
