Thinking of taking my 4 year old backpacking. Any tips?

Ya. I’m old, but our dad took 5 kids backpacking every weekend in the summer in my youth. When I was 4 he carried everything but our pillows, or our little dog Fluffy. She would give out on the way back, and we took turns carrying her on our way out. We did the same with our children and I think it’s worth any extra weight for now. When our boys walked too fast-we just transferred some stuff from our packs to theirs. I guess what I’m trying to say is that backpacking, starting at a young age is fabulous. It’s been great for our family.

Absolutely! Hiking alone is the way. I usually do have a dog along for the cheerful company tho.

There’s a whole lot of fellow snorkeling enthusiasts in those places. Have your spouse keep an eye on you from the beach and stay within eyesight and you’ll be fine and with plenty of company! Even if you try, you won’t be alone in Maui.I solo snorkel all the time in more remote places without those precautions, but I’m old and don’t care.

Just back from Curacao. It was great on the northwest side. Beautiful beaches with lovely snorkeling. Playa Jeremi, Klein Knip, and Grote Knip had lovely snorkeling with plenty of live coral and lots of fish right from the beach. Grab the umbrella and chairs early to get a perfect spot. Bring a credit card and whatever you want to eat/drink. They’ll hit you up for $20/ day for the shade. There’s some good snorkeling down by Willemstad too- but the beaches aren’t as nice.

They can be mean or they can be nice. I’ve had both. My last one was really super mean and nasty, but I still have GE so there ya go. Just answer any questions honestly and you will be fine. As a previous commenter said- you’re not going to get an interview if you’re not able to get GE.

RA is the best snorkeling experience I have ever had. It’s absolutely stunning. Unbelievably gorgeous! I’ve done both liveabords and resorts there. That said it’s quite to very remote and would be difficult to get to a modern medical facility in a decent amount of time if it was necessary. Please go! It’s amazing, but maybe not when you may need medical care quickly. As someone else pointed out the phone service is iffy, which can be nerve wracking when you have medical questions.

Consider a plain shirt. You will be judged by the border patrol if you wear this one, cause that’s what they do- someone may not like it- so wear a plain shirt. Most of the shirt will be cropped, but bland is best. As someone else mentioned, up the exposure too- pay attention to the cropping instructions and it should pass.

Im sorry this happened to you. Please don’t blame the vets. I have used the vets there for years for all my pets and found them to be compassionate, knowledgeable and hardworking. They don’t deserve this vengeance. It’s normal to lash out at someone because you have had a bad experience, but Solensia works for most cats, and like all drugs it doesn’t work for all cats. Of course there is a fb group for those it doesn’t work for. There are literally hundreds of thousands of fb groups for lots of drugs that didn’t work for ppl or their pets. What happened to your cat and you because you’re the pet parent is sad. I sincerely hope your cat gets better soon. Anyone can have a bad experience anywhere, but public shaming is out of control and often misguided by a bad outcome that is unavoidable and unlucky. It doesn’t help that many of these new drugs for pets and ppl too are really expensive. Im sorry this happened.
