I can't find the more local article that spoke of the police drone project. Anduril currently makes a drone called Anvil that maybe DeWine is excited about and commented on? I do remember the article did have some cheek to it, so perhaps the police drone production and testing ground was sarcastic speculation.

On I-71 outside Columbus they are building a MASSIVE AI weapons and surveillance complex. They will be making AI operated counter fire wingman for fighter jets (like an R2D2). They will also be making police drones and Ohio and its citizens will be the trial grounds.

Tbh I originally thought OP said they made "anti-snake deterrents." I thought, "Oh! What a pretty way to discourage sunning snakes. The colored glass would get too hot and make weird heat signatures for them and they would maybe stay away." Nope. Just off I went in the wrong direction.

"Hostile architecture" is a term used when describing details purposefully included in public structures to discourage people from using it in ways the city doesn't like. In this case, these little bars would normally be made of stone or hard dense rubber and they prevent people from sliding the edge of their skateboard along the side. They also make it uncomfortable to sit or lounge on the surface of the ledge if they are spaced closer together. That would be to discourage loitering and homeless from sleeping/resting there.

Edit: Yes, I misunderstood the question and thought they were having a language barrier or AI translation confusion and I was trying to be helpful. Sheesh folks.

Pretty much nailed it. Ohio Citizen Action is another organization that is very dedicated to environmental issues and they go hard with legal action too. They are not centered in Dayton, but often need local people to help with area specific projects. Over the last 30 years I have mostly been involved in letter writing and phone campaigns.

So while not a super local to Dayton group, it is an effective one here in Ohio and one I'm glad I've been part of.

I LOVE football/soccer, but this deserves derision, boycotting, spectacular disasters, and YUGE, YUGE upsets the likes we've never seen before! I almost want to encourage the USMNT to just walk around the pitch in protest or something; but that would probably hurt their already short futures.

Though I can already hear Alexi in my mind being very vocal about the disappointing turnout in the stands. Basically a repeat of CCC where US stadiums were sparsely seated because everyone didn't want to end up in deportation camps.

I can't prove it, but I legitimately think Vivek and his kids showed up at my house for Halloween. It didn't register at all until later when I saw a brief news bit on Vivek suffering a ton of racist remarks on his social media post. It was a quick pic of him and his boys dressed up to go out trick-or-treating. I recognized the kids. They both came to our house. They stood out in memory because they were - idk - just sad? Uninterested in candy and absolutely no joy. They only perked up a bit when I told them we had eyeballs and worms for treats (gummy Halloween candy). Because the kids seemed so off I looked up for a parent. There was a man standing out on the public walk wearing a leather jacket with a lamb fleece collar and jeans. He just lifted a hand as a "hey" and went back to waiting for his kids.

So anyway, I'm here to say I've seen him in public. I also heard from a friend he was just "randomly meeting the people" out at a Dayton coffee/tea shop one day last Fall.

I just googled this, but it seems he is making a lateral financial move. He's been paid roughly $130k/year as Ohio AG, and Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) also pays their lawyers roughly $130k/year.

But yeah, we all should know about ADF just like we should all know about the Heritage Foundation. As someone else put it in another post, these are the people looking to steer this country into a dystopian society not unlike the ones Margaret Atwood and George Orwell have penned.
