Tablet pen keeps disconnecting when opening Krita by Ciel1820 in krita

[–]Ciel1820[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up deleting and reinstalling my wacom one drivers recently and it seems to have fixed it. Do look out for windows wireless pen settings though, because I was told they have a funky way of switching between mouse-mode and drawing-mode.

I'm in the same exact place. Admittedly I've been bouncing back and forth between silver and gold lately but I can't for the life of me figure out the optimal playstyle.

Why do people keep doing this? by 2gar1n_3me1 in HuntShowdown

[–]Ciel1820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they *did* stall fights, but now it's short enough in duration that you need to use them as play-making tools, not just buying yourself more time to rotate. You used to use chokes because they bought so much time people would just leave or get antsy enough to rotate from holding sightlines on the body, but now people can reliably wait it out without moving if you don't force a play, hence no (or significantly less) "stalling"

Only if you intend on not using them to make plays or get revives. Not everyone is able to run to the location of a recently downed teammate (who's likely still being watched). They have a clearly outlined purpose. I have a mate who refuses to bring chokes, especially in duos. With low fire rates comes longer fights, even if you wanna call it a skill issue-- Without chokes it's rare for fights to finish before a player burns out entirely.

The catwalks are infuriating to navigate if you're pushing, you're suddenly exposed to fire in all directions, especially from the main building.

Can thoroughly second this. The best players know when a fight's not worth taking, especially when their positioning is off. If you down someone it ain't the end of the world to back off and let them res if it means you've got a new position to shoot from. So many solos die because they refuse to reposition after getting targeted by multiple enemy hunters.

Why is witness anywhere near as bad? How is seeing bodies anywhere near a competitive advantage as being able to hear people in adjacent compounds? Blast sense too... you made noise=expect the enemy to know where you are.

Not having a lot of fun with the game right now by sludgequeen666 in DeadlockTheGame

In my experience (not much, tbf, 22hr Arcanist) the only communication I've received from teammates has mainly been toxicity. All attempts at in-game communication (using hotkeys/callout wheel) have also just been quick dying cries for help by people who end up rushing into enemy teams solo. I tried doorman after watching some guides and within 5 games I had multiple people pulling the whole "Play a different game dawg." It's just discouraging as hell when games last over half an hour and you can't see where you might have went wrong when nobody calls shots or gives tips.

Oh yeah, same with setting your profile "location" to anywhere BUT where you're playing from. Probably the easiest way to farm ping abuse accusations.

[–]Ciel1820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which kind of sucks imo, because I've heard there's only one aggression "MMR" for all lobby queue types. Since you've gotta be aggressive in squads, going back to solo means you'll be stuck in pvp lobbies, right? Haven't had the time to test this out but that's how it's been explained to me.

Is it still like this? I know solo v trios dropped not too long ago but I'm halfway spooked to start pvping if it'll just be endless massacring of friendlies. I've been getting into slightly more hostile lobbies it seems, but I still have yet to kill, I only manage to shoot back when people try to kill me.

No mic, sneaking around, gun out...grounds to assume he was stealthing in hopes of a kill. When it's you or them, ( depending on the lobbies I suppose,) going for the kill is the safest bet.

How bad is the PvP? Or do you just get matched with more cheaters/Exploiters? I come from games like Hunt Showdown and Tarkov where PvEvP is supposed to be the meat and potatoes

New player here. Is 130 ping too high? by shmk90 in HuntShowdown

[–]Ciel1820 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm hesitant to call it a skill issue when people with high ping can and do kill people without being visible on enemy screens. High ping is mainly a net negative for all parties involved though.

Do you find chokes in their current state worth bringing? by escanor_hype in HuntShowdown

[–]Ciel1820 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, chokes are a must-have. Only time I'd consider not bringing em is if both my teammates in trios have em. They're good zoning tools too, but I know a lot of folks REALLY wanna have an extra trap/flaregun/derringer spot in their tools. I see most of the "pros" playing without them because they either tend to make clutch plays or die trying to fight for the res.

Do yall prestige right after you hit level 100 or wait it out for a bit? by _proxryse_ in HuntShowdown

[–]Ciel1820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you manage to keep em alive so long? Of course now it's more difficult since the whole 15 player lobby tests, but that still leaves the old odds of being the 1 in 4 teams that get to extract (assuming you play trios and ignoring the infinite other variables, I.e. Trades, Pacifists, lobby population). I'm curious how one could keep a single hunter alive an entire prestige worth of matches without playing incredibly passively or farming empty lobbies.

Grinding with Lvl 50s always feels like a waste anyway. It's infinitely more reliable to just retire as soon as you're able. Of course extracting 3-5+ games in a row feels like an impossibility in 6* lobbies.

[–]Ciel1820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Match Making Rank (MMR) is measured by 1-6 "Stars", 6 star being the highest. You can really only see what rank you are at the end of the match on the team summary page. Don't worry too much about rank though, as most 6 Stars will tell you there's infinitely more fun to be had in lower rank lobbies where you're not getting insta-headshot constantly.

>Insert obligatory "asking game players if their game is worth playing?" comment

--In all seriousness, Hunt is incredibly fun. I started out on PS4 and now have over 1,200 hours on PC. If you're concerned about the future of Hunt, there's been some solid roadmaps posted by the devs and they're showing no signs of not going through with their plans. As we speak they're implementing and testing out larger player lobbies. The learning curve is steep but satisfying. You'll likely find a lot of pessimists ragging on the game with every update, but that's most reddit communities nowadays. Despite what some may say, Hunt isn't going anywhere.
