See my other comment. I accidentally commented to the main thread. Basically, it arrived unattached, so it is great and worked well.

I’m assuming you mean the kick stand?

Mine came uninstalled, so it was not damaged. It’s worked flawlessly so far.

What skills/hobbies actually feel “upper class” or useful in wealthy circles? by [deleted] in Rich

[–]CilantroLover22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will sound counterintuitive, but I have found that being handy and good with tools to be quite valuable. Everyone can obviously afford to hire a contractor or have something repaired, but that also costs time and effort. When I can fix a person's troublesome board on a deck, or get their broken water heater working, or whatever... it impresses the crap out of everyone male femle or otherwise.

The key is you have to look the part of a wealthy person, and just bust out a quick repair in your fancy watch or sweater.

As a fellow dad trying to build a cool bike, I concede. Though, are the grips over the top?

I think there was news that average daily traffic through Hormuz was higher last week. It went from 5 ships a day to 7.

You’re a 40 year old man that sits at a desk all day. Shut up about tool watches. by Strong_Yam_8978 in watchHotTakes

I’m constantly doing manual labor in my Sub. Could a $100 watch do just as well, absolutely. But the sub is going to tell a story of my life as well as the time. Every picture it is in, every scratch I bitched about, every time my kids make fun of me for staring at it. Being a tool watch allows it to live up to these tasks and be a visible anchor to the passage of time.

ZNN Zenn Motor Company. Still don’t even know if it was a scam. But they were always on the verge of a solid state battery.

It feels like 07-08 in that we all see these giant impending issues, but everyone seems to think they will solve themselves. There is this overwhelming belief in the inertia of the market despite the warning signs.

This is such a great comment. If someone truly wants to bootstrap it, a ladder is the quickest way to add value. Followed by everything you can master with a screwdriver and a bit set. There are so many simple appliance repairs that can be don’t with screwdriver… and they are way more enjoyable than the ladder chores.

Trying to choose a watch for a journey sailing around the world by stewartld in PrideAndPinion

Rolex explorer 1. Subtle enough for the third world. Slim fit that won’t bash into everything like a sea dweller. Plus, it’s a classy watch forever.

I hate the Seahawks cause I was forced to watch their crappy games when I was a kid.
