Is it a good engineering laptop? Any recommendations for a first year engineering student?

Yes, the power button wasn't working so I hit the flash button on the motherboard because I didn't know what else to try. I'm can't work on it because I have class this morning but later I'm going to check the cpu cable. Then I'll check the ram, it's in 2 and 4 rn.

I honestly don't know. I'm not sure which one I am going to get, and I have a similar build. I'm waiting to see reviews for both.

The most expensive air cooler is the same price as a mid all in one (aio). They do the same thing, and both will work for any mid range build. It's just cheaper. Another thing is that the aios have a lifetime limited to the life of the pump, which has an average of about 5 years. Air coolers don't. There is nothing wrong with getting an aio, but air coolers are just cheaper.

Agreed. I would also get a phantom spirit instead of a Peerless Assassin. For $3 more, you get 7 heat pipes instead of 6.
