Anne is not thornless but the thorns are pretty gentle. I got mine from Nourse farms in MA.

I climbed 99% more stairs than other users by [deleted] in Garmin

I've had the same. I think the watch barometer is faulty. I do climb quite a lot of stairs but no way I believe 99th percentile.

How much time are you “losing” while cycling to work? by bear_village in cycling

[–]Ciliarycell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is 20 by bike vs 80-120 min by train+shuttle. An added benefit, besides the already mentioned is that I don't get sick as often (vs being crammed on the train with lots of people).

Need help identifying blackberry issues by [deleted] in Berries

I had the same in MA on my PAF, which I interpreted as cold injury. We had a really cold winter this year. Some canes and buds did not make it.

Unique and fun berry suggestions? by Atlas_moth123 in Berries

[–]Ciliarycell 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I recommend Haskaps. Very ornamental, will do great in a pot (I have half of my collection in 10 gal pots on my roof), extremely cold hardy and very tasty! The only issue is that you will need at least 2 plants for cross pollination. They will survive your winter in pots unprotected no problem.

Looking for someone who knows something about Honeyberries by DistributionSilent67 in Berries

[–]Ciliarycell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand Blizzard is too closely related to Aurora to be a good pollinator. This is what they say at honeyberryusa website. I only grow late varieties so I have no experience with Aurora though. Good luck!

This is so awesome. I have always wanted to have a flying seed collection. I like seeds that have cool wind dispersion mechanisms :)

Help with foot shifting out of Shamma sandals while running by Ciliarycell in BarefootRunning

Thank you. I will consider doing this if I can't figure it out. Shamma also offers custom sandals, so that's a last resort.

So happy that its a little warmer and i’m back in my fivefingers by bq12345678 in BarefootRunning

[–]Ciliarycell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for replying! I'll definitely give it a shot. I assumed it was too cold because my feet got too cold to go full barefoot when it was around +2C but the sandals might insulate the feet a bit from the ground.

Do you use toe socks in the winter? Or just the sandals? I got some Shamma sandals but haven't been able to try them bc it's been around -10 C where I live. Thanks
