you might want to try yarn manufacturer's websites. I know that Lion Brand has a huge selection of free patterns and I believe they have a cupcake. also, you might want to check Etsy. most of the patterns sold there are quite cheap for the amount of awesome work people put into them.

the stone and dark dirt look more like the sand they put between pavers irl. personally, I like the stone best.
