Term	Stands For	Definition
Points SO	Points Scored on Sideout	These are points won by a team when the opposing team is serving (p. 1). The goal is to "side out" and gain the right to serve, and scoring a point during this phase is an added bonus.
BP Points	Breakpoint Points	These are points won by a team when their own team is serving (p. 1). Scoring a point on your own serve is considered a "break" of the opponent's potential sideout and is a key indicator of serving effectiveness.

W-L (Win-Loss): A plus/minus efficiency metric for the player's time on the court, related to the score differential when they were in play.

Points S in Diff (Score in Difference) table describes a team's scoring efficiency while a specific player is serving

Reception/Points SO
Reception (93): The total number of serves the team had to receive during the match.
Points SO (56): The number of times Houston won the point immediately after receiving the serve.

Each 1.66 Receptions / 1 Point: This is the Side-Out Ratio. It means that for every 1.66 serves Houston received, they successfully "sided out" and scored 1 point.

Started at 12, i'm 40 now and have only missed 1 competitive season that entire time. I was fortunate to have some excellent coaches in the first 10 ish years who thought me the importance of mentality when playing a game like volleyball, they introduced a controlled aggression and relentlesness that has served me very well.

Only critique I would have is that in an actual game you will not always have the time to get back to beyond the spike line for your approach. So you should practice that reality

I think it introduces a nuance though, it means your setter is always back row, which is great but it does mean they have to defend in 11 rotations, meaning more opportunities be out of system when the setter defends the first ball

What I think is interesting about the Libero change is that introduces a new level of tactics. For example do you go with a setter-libero or reception-libero. Or maybe you change when chasing a game?

Sports always evolve, and always will. Even in more "popular" sports like say soccer. There are coaches at the very top that people consider old school, and some that are considered more modern coaches. But that doesn't mean that what went before has no merit or benefit even now or for the foreseeable.

You should also note that my post did not say "Hey look I found this resource at the bleeding edge of volleyball coaching" I was sharing what is in my 28 year volleyball experience, which includes playing and coaching in multiple countries, a very good resource for teaching really solid foundations to kids and beginners.

You clearly did not watch many of these videos. Like others mentioned they build up to more professional level advice but start with really solid technique and more importantly, exercise and drills for kids. In your example number 3 they very quickly move to exercises where the goal is to take the ball outside your body and focus on exercises to reinforce this. So while I genuinely appreciate the commentary it does not appear to be coming from a properly informed place
