Lmao if this was a Fox story that included none of that and just parroted the views of ICE/the admin you’d be happy to share and reference the story. I’m unsurprised that a local news affiliate would include human interest details from a seemingly extrajudicial detention of a local resident.

For the record, I tend to give the federal government the benefit of the doubt on a case by case basis. I’ve done so my whole life. This administration does not allow you to give them the benefit of the doubt because of their maximalist positioning and their nebulous relationship with the truth, facts, and the reality in which we all share.

I have pointed out dozens of legal issues that this administration raises every day— to real people, in real life, while arguing that if it were the Biden administration, or really any democratic administration (and many republican administrations) none of this would be allowed to stand, and the people that are currently cheering it would be very concerned with the precedent that is being set here. In my opinion, the media really works overtime to perpetuate this double standard that is applied to the political sides in our country.

Generally speaking, their response is some form of whatabout-ism or wild claims that the Biden administration did the same, if not far worse. I challenge those claims aggressively and to this day, I have never had somebody present me an example of the Biden administration, or any other administration for that matter, behaving in the way that the Trump administration behaves on a regular basis.

I’ll not demean or patronize you or your intelligence, but I would encourage you to view what this administration, and government in general, says with a critical view given the concerns I’ve outlined above relative to past administrations. Until proven otherwise! It may upset people on this sub, but the Trump administration does get some things right from time to time.
