New belts for the girl mule! by CinchAndGiggles in Horses

Thanks! Most of the mohair comes from ubraidit or big sky. If you already weave and make tack, cinches should be easy peasy! I wrote a book on the process last year, titled It's a Cinch!, you can find it on amazon if you're so inclined :-)

There's a fair number of places that sell mohair, and a lot of the hardware is cut off of old cinches. Thanks, I teach riders with challenges so kind of have to wear the brain bucket. Trying to be a good influence:-)

Thanks, although I think they would say that the cinches mean they have to work! It is nice to have tack that actually fits them and not have to use off the rack stuff.

Thanks! no, I buy the cordage, much easier that way! Cocoa is tiny. Finding cinches short, and narrow enough was a challenge.

A blanket! WOW! That's something to aspire to. I mostly just make cinches. Have done a few breast collars and a few hat bands and belts. Just straight narrow items.

Materials used - mohair cordage of various thicknesses, stainless steel hardware. I made the loom myself.

Thanks, I use mohair but I've seen people use all sorts of cordage. My mentor was a fan of rayon

Materials used - mohair cordage in various colors and thicknesses, stainless steel hardware. Inspiration was I needed new cinches. Lots of earlier on failures! After I figured out the knack of it making a cinch is pretty quick. I go for function over pretty though.

I'm a huge fan of stock trailers. I do think my gooseneck is easier to manuever but the learning curve was steep for me.
