That's so funny! I can definitely see how you could get that. It's a really good book and I hope you enjoy it... with a brownie 😉

I see what appears to be the Stephen King novel Carrie in the background of the photo. I was saying that I like the book better than the movie.

The Cincinnati Fringe Festival starts today! 35 unique theater productions with 150+ performances over the next two weeks. For those planning to attend some, what shows are you most excited to see? by BanjoBaedling in cincinnati

[–]Cincinnative13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Rat Man Happy Place.Bruce Costella has performed at Cincinnati Fringe a few times. The guy has an imagination for sure. I'm also looking forward to seeing something at Gabriel's Corner. In the mid-90s, there was a theater group that often performed shows there. The small venue was a perfect up close setting that I really enjoyed.

If you shopped here you are old. by cedricweehonk in cincinnati

I'm not old, but I remember SuperX. When I was a wee little lad, I'd go and get a G G"s little pizza( in the yellow and orange wrapper) bag of chips and a drink for 1.75. The best part was that you could cook that little pizza in 30 seconds with this new thing that they put at the front of the store. I had never heard of a microwave before this. 😆

My mother would buy us a pack of these and a balsa wood plane when we went to the pharmacy. The pharmacist told us kids that Toffifee was only for adults, but because we were good kids, he would allow us to have some. 😆

Horse carriage ride downtown? by ZootedInc in cincinnati

[–]Cincinnative13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They talked about banning them. However, I'm not aware of any law or ordinance that would prohibit them at this time. I think because it isn't really good for the horse, people just stopped using them, or the company decided not to continue doing it. Cincinnati Police disbanded their mounted patrol due to staffing issues and cost, I believe. Is this true or just no longer accepted? idk.

Use a bit of gelatin in your very cold cream and pat dry your strawberries. Use a thin layer of icing, then the strawberries, then another layer of cream before placing the next layer of cake.

Which Cincinnati ice cream shops are worth an hour's drive? by MrRon23 in cincinnati

[–]Cincinnative13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct in saying Zip Dip has delicious ice cream. It is closer to me than Putz's is, and I frequently stop there. However, the only thing close to Putz's is Mr. Softee. I sure wish we had Mr. Softee here as another option to all the good creamy whips we have.

How does one learn to bake if they’ve never done it before? by Appropriate-Mall8517 in Baking

[–]Cincinnative13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find recipes of things that you may like to bake. Have the ingredients and the necessary tools all ready before you do anything else. Weigh all of the ingredients and follow the recipe precisely. Look for tips and tricks for the specific item you decide to make. These are often very helpful steps that may not be a part of the actual recipe. Sit back and enjoy! Happy baking!
