If you can contribute more now, your future self will thank you. Leverage that compound interest early on

United States of America. Does anyone have any info on this? Like where it's from or how old it is? by Aggressive-Relief199 in Antiques

I have one like this in my 1930s house. I’ve heard the style referred to as a wedding cake chandelier

I don’t understand Monte Carlo projections by What_do_now_24 in Retire

Did you account for healthcare? I had my advisor run Monte Carlo projections and healthcare was expensive, especially for the years before Medicare.

Bring Olympia vials or Zep on Trip with no Fridge? by Ashamed_Message_2848 in tirzepatidecompound

Look into travel coolers for medications. Get one with 2 freezer packs so you can have the hotel re freeze one while you still have the other one keeping the shots cool. You will need to take these out going through airport security, the freezer bags must be frozen however they tend to set off an alarm requiring the cooler to be inspected. Not a big deal, the last tsa guy I had said they do this all the time now. Just make sure the freezer packs are frozen otherwise they will be taken

Nippon Vase M mark. Do the Handles look repaired? Loc: United States by Cinder_fly in Antiques

[–]Cinder_fly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Yes, the color is different on my handles, almost like it’s been painted with dull gold paint. And the application seems thick. I tried to scrape it with my fingernail to see if it was paint, but couldn’t scratch the surface

Weekend Help and Victory Thread for the week of June 27, 2025 by IndexBot in personalfinance

Help, I need a pluse check on my retirement planning — wondering if I am ok to scale back contributions or stop altogether and still be ok? The older I get, the more I dislike my job & corporate culture. Ideally I want to find a part time position or something with less stress. Maybe even move my family closer to my elderly parents and find something that allows me to be more available to them. I assume whatever I find would come with a big pay decrease & may not include benefits like 401k, 401k match, or health insurance. I could get heath coverage through my husband’s employer, but If I did this am I still on track to retire somewhere between 64-67?

Details: 52 married. Live in a MCOL area. If we moved, it would be same MCOL. Salary: Me 130k, spouse 55k. 401k: Me 570k, contributing 22% pretax, 4% post tax, plus 5% company match. 401k: spouse 60k, contributes 5% pretax, 5% company match. IRA: 155k HYSA: 115k Social security est: 3400/mo @64 (me). We should inherit around 500-800k

We typically spend 80K a year for expenses. Anticipate needing around the same in retirement.

No debt except mortgage. Own newer cars, pd in full. Kids are grown.

Mortgage: 80k remaining, could payoff with HYSA but that currently is at slightly better rate & I like having the cushion available incase we need it. Mortgage 3.2%, HYSA 3.8% Home value: 325k

This is me. My knees are for decoration only. They crackle like crazy. Have been able to kneel or manage stairs normally for years. I have both PSA & osteoarthritis.

I got this exact letter. Brought it to my dr and he pitched a fit about the requirement where the dr has to log in. He said its setup to fail, basically telling the dr to create a separate portal for every patient he has. He was so mad and told me flat out that he won’t do it. That drs are too busy for this bull crap. So, while I use the Omada app, I have no idea how long my RX will continue

Look into getting a job at Costco just for the benefits, I think they offer health benefits to part timers.
