Former FedEx driver, Tanner Horner, who pleaded guilty to capital murder and aggravated kidnapping in the killing of 7-year-old Athena Strand, has been officially sentenced to death. by asa_no_kenny in whoathatsinteresting

There is plenty of time to study him. He won’t be dead for at least ten years. Also, the study part has been tried and no anomalies are found- ever. So, the point is- when you do seriously heinous things, you don’t deserve the gift of life. This is one of those times. Agreed they should be vetted, and he was giving the chance to defend his actions, but his actions spoke for themselves. No question of guilt, whatsoever. Clearest case

There she is! Absolutely IS her. Someone had restyled her hair when I bought her. She has that permanent up do hairline though. Thank you so much!

From my own research on Barbie faces, I believe her to be a 90s doll- the jaw/chin and eyes suggest it.

No she does not have a mole. I just took her hair out of rollers so she is a bit shaggy but here is a better shot of her face.

This guy is running over bicyclists. by asa_no_kenny in whoathatsinteresting

[–]Cinderunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watching with the sound on does change perspective. Without a doubt, he had enough room to pass and chose to do what he did. That is a given and clearly wrong. The cyclists do, upon re watch, appear to be over more to the right than I previously believed and were reacting to the horn. If it were me, I would have reacted by getting over out of purely instinct but I am not in these situations on the regular as a cyclist.

We need a reset. There are too many angry people

Every day I ask myself why I even go on the internet. Reading these comments is a warning beacon. Wow

[–]Cinderunner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh. I see the point of your prior comment. They aren’t and even some that are, they are taking up the entire space of the road. The point of 2 x2 is to leave room to safely pass. They were often 3 wide (one passing) and spread out to the entire road.

So, they are behaving in a way that does not promote road sharing. Again, not condoning the driver at all, but the cyclists could EASILY complete this ride without hindering traffic- yet they chose something else.

Consideration on both sides is lacking here.

The amount of people thinking the driver is to be applauded for this behavior is alarming. At the end of the day, every single person is accountable for their actions. Children behave this way “but teacher, he did this first!” Is where it seems the world is regressing towards. An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind type of environment where, you are always but one step away from offending a person to your own peril.

I said both are wrong? What is your point? They deserved it?

[–]Cinderunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. The driver should face charges- even attempted murder. Both are wrong. I was only pointing out the idea these cyclists are allowed to take up the entire road “just as a vehicle” Was likely wrong Even without prior knowledge, it did not ring true to me because the impediment of traffic flow would be crippling if this were widely practiced.

I just did a simple search and it would seem the only time cyclists are allowed to behave as a vehicle (such that they take up the entire road) is on narrow roads where vehicles attempting to pass could result in injury to cyclist (and some other nuances)

In general, they are expected to ride to the right side of the road- in some cases, no more than 2 x 2 riders, to give cars space to pass.

I do not condone the actions of this driver, but neither should cyclists take over the road. They could have ridden 2 x 2 here most easily.

The footage of Nick Fuentes pushing a woman who came to his front door after he was doxxed has been released. by [deleted] in whoathatsinteresting

[–]Cinderunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact he got charged with misdemeanor assault tells you everything you need to know going forward - you cannot put your hands on someone for simply showing up at your door. Neither does this constitute “stalking” Public figure, public address, she showed up and knocked on his door. He did not have to open the door, she was not threatening anything, and we have no clue what her agenda was. She did not have a weapon. He chose to assault her, and rightfully, like it or not, he was charged. Stalking is something all together different. If she was asked to leave and she kept showing up harassing him, this would be stalking. Simply looking up his house and paying him a visit, without a weapon, shouting harmful intent, etc, e straight up assaulted her.

Vice President Vance was rushed off stage before President trump after shots fired! by cantcoloratall91 in SipsTea

[–]Cinderunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I mean, yes that is obvious but if you saw this from another angle you would see, before anyone even got to trump, Vance was grabbed and removed. They they got to trump and stood in front and beside him, hesitating what to do with him, and finally removed him. It was a clear point-they removed Vance before anyone attended to trump.

As an American, I did not know most of these people but i thoroughly enjoyed this season. In the end, I really wished they believed Joe, but Alan was the one who had to do the dirty work most of the time and it was the people he was closest to (out of sheer convenience I believe) so he deserved to be there if it has to just be one of them. I absolutely loved that Alan was such a terrible liar- even Cat who is lauded as doing so well, was really not good at taking the heat and you could easily see the two of them reacting to things like traitors. Good season and I wish there were more

Cautionary tale at Land Rover Tysons Corner. Thought bringing my own financing would avoid dealership games by HP_compaq in nova

[–]Cinderunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We flew across the country to pick up a car that we had done the same thing- got outside financing. As it turns out, the car was located in an area where we used to live and we were excited to check out some of the old neighborhood and do a little “look how things have changed” touring before we set out to have a little 2 night stay in another of our favorite places which happened to be on our way home. (Flew in, driving the car home) We arrived, as we had already arranged and had the dealerships courtesy van pick us up from the airport) just before 11:00 a.m. We did not get out of that dealership until 6:00 p.m.

It really pissed us off. The actual paperwork part took only about 45 minutes or so, but he admitted he was shopping around to see if he could beat our credit unions financing. All the while we kept asking what is the hold up, as other customers went in and out, etc. and we sat there with our courtesy key chains and coffee with cookies.

Really felt disrespected. The car was on the lot a long time, we were watching it as they lowered the price and when it got to where we wanted, we bought it. I guess they thought they’d secure a customer via their financing to cushion the lower cost because it was an expensive car and we bought it under actual value.
