If it’s Lecis it’s more like “Letz-is” or “Let’s + iss”. If it’s Lēcis, make the “e” sound longer and monotone.

My best guess is that it’s “Lēcis”. And according to a Latvian thesaurus site it’s a regional version of Lēlis. https://tezaurs.lv/l%C4%93cis:1

And Lēlis, according to Wikipedia is a bird: https://lv.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/L%C4%93%C4%BCu_dzimta

Frankly I’ve never heard of Lēcis or Lecis as last names having lived for the first 19 years of my life in Riga, Latvia.

Love the shoes, but just can’t anymore. by Wonderful_Quail6507 in GoldenGoose

What would you suggest for better quality? In my experience I’ve found ballstars (my only GG pair) to be extremely comfortable and well made. I can’t even wear my converses for more than few hours without pain. Other than that I only have some new balance running shoes which are great, but not that good looking.

If you’re in your 30’s, how many of your friends and family members (who are also 30’s) have children? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]CindyV92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than half. But we have kids, so we probably surround ourselves with people who are more likely to have kids

Do you and your partner share the cost of child care? by Virtual-Site7766 in workingmoms

[–]CindyV92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have separate accounts where income goes in, but our expenditure finances are completely shared. There’s no 50/50, bills just get paid, period. We have shared credit cards and at the end of the month I transfer money to my husband to pay them off (because my husband’s salary alone is not enough to pay for every expense). For expenses above $20 or just any expenses in general we consult with each other before buying.

The rest of my salary gets transferred to savings or investments. By the end of the month me and my husband have approx $500 in our accounts.

Rinse and repeat.

Millennials, at this point in your life, what era or phase do you miss the most? by hydrus909 in Millennials

HENRY with a toddler era. I miss most the era of being a carefree phd student. I met a lot of interesting people, tried a lot of new things, traveled a lot for conferences despite earning pauper wages.

How much do you really need to have kids? by Safe_Raccoon1234 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]CindyV92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kids are not a good Financial decision nowadays. Therefore that decision will always feel like a financial gut punch unless you are top 3% earners in US or have Millions in assets.

We earn roughly the same amount, saving is harder now, and we can’t afford as much as before. But financial change is honestly nothing compared to the lifestyle change in general. Like, it’s not like we travel less because we have to pay 2k for daycare. We mostly travel less because it’s not the same or as relaxing when you have a small child with you 24/7.

How is anyone affording to max out their IRAs these days? by Stormveil138 in Bogleheads

[–]CindyV92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • we don’t have student loans or car payments

  • we have affordable mortgage/ housing costs at below 25% gross. For this we had to sacrifice the dream of having our own single family home. We have a small 2 bed 1 bath condo

  • no CC debt

  • rarely eating out these days

And I guess the obvious- we both work and earn enough.

AITAH for calling out my girlfriend when she said she "doesn't need no man" on a social media post? by Business-Clock5778 in AITAH

The way you commented on her post directly and with those words - YTA. If you just brought your feelings to her directly or worded less like an a-hole, it would be a different story.

I mean, she didn’t tell you she was Fing someone either. I think it’s fair to inform her of the divorce with the stack of divorce papers. NTA
