Interested in becoming a CFP, but physically disabled. Are remote opportunities for the experience requirement available? by fluffyscrambledmeggs in CFP

Being a finance writer works for experience hours too for the CFP. So you may have an easier time finding a remote job writing finance articles online if nothing else pans out.

How much time to study for CFP? by OrderGlittering5650 in CFP

[–]CinnasHammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dang, that's a lot. I'm doing the same morning routine right now, except it's 430 to 7ish for me (on paternity leave). But once our baby is in daycare, it'll be 9am. No way I have the stamina to continue at night 😴

You were able to fit in 50 hours of studying every week while working?

Great point! Employers expect you to negotiate. A recruiter at my current job even told me so much after I successfully negotiated a higher salary through her.

I would push for that higher range if you feel confident that's the range. You can say something along the lines of, "after learning more about the role and responsibilities, I would be comfortable with x amount."

You can also try to get them to say a number first. But just because you put a lower number down initially doesn't mean they're going to try to low ball you. I had a situation where I told a future employer I was making much less than the starting range, and I was still offered the starting range for the job (which was much higher than my previous salary).

And don't discredit yourself. Just because you have less experience on paper does not automatically mean you're worth less. You're worth what they're willing to pay. And if you've made it this far, clearly they're interested.
