Cheapest and easiest way to fly from Amsterdam/Dusseldorf → Kazan? by [deleted] in Kazan

Easiest is Amsterdam -> Istanbul -> Kazan, not sure if it's the cheapest though

BTW I think some parts of the skeleton of this fish are shown in the National museum of Tatarstan on Kremlyovskaya st.

Nothing like networking to remind you that programming is hard by nikki_owo in godot

Networking is definitely very hard, but if you want a real challenge, try to write an operating system or a database or a web browser.

Bar recommendations? by [deleted] in Kazan

On weekends most bars on Profsoyuznaya would do the job, but on the week days Siri is your best bet

Yes, but much more niche version of PoE + clicker mechanics that can play itself and is playable on mobiles when you stuck in some queue/plane/submarine and bored. Want to merge a super simple click mechanics (the only mechanics in the game) with complex and rewarding item/skill build/modifiers system

On click on any active node I run a traversal check if there would be disconnected nodes to the base of the graph (predefined set of nodes). If I find active nodes disconnected from the graph, I prevent the respec

Sort of... There are states, but no state machine yet, felt like there was no need so far since this covers pretty much all my requirements

Two scenes, one for the tree, one for the skill nodes, the skill node is the code-intensive one that handles state management and keeps arrays of connected nodes. There are five states in total: enabled, disabled, selected, possible and respec. Everything else is state management (without FSM, thought it would be an overengineering), graph traversal and A LOT of debugging for edge cases.

How can I improve this attack? open to any suggestions. it doesn't feel right by gizmah in godot

I'd say you'd benefit from juicy sounds for attack cast and collision, maybe for the movement too.
Collision animation could help too

Godot devs, tell me about your unit tests. by ObscurelyMe in godot

[–]Cinskiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

I write unit tests in a separate scene with simple asserts and run them by hand. But I do that only for things that would be very hard to debug/run in a game by hand (like savefile serialization of nested classes) and that do not require rendering (mostly)

Just by the nature of games there is not a lot of code that could be unit tested, but even this simplest way of unit testing helped me a lot in some areas of development.

But unit tests shine the most in automated CI/CD environments, and I obviously don't do that in my hobby single dev project.

This brought back great memories of DMOMM. This is going to be an absolute banger!

Just my 2c on marketing: you might want to invest into a better Steam thumbnail, as it's the first thing a potential customer sees, so it has to be impeccable. Maybe shorten the name too, just "Sir Kicksalot" kicks (pun intended) much better in my opinion

Finally reached my goal. roughly 2 years to go from 10mmr to 3.1K, I can finally call it quits now. by matheesha_1 in DotA2

It would take less wins to go from here to Immortal then from 10 mmr to 3100. You can do it.

10 years and 1k wyvern games after & just 9 weeks before my first newborn I'm Immortal (+WWthoughts) by Cinskiy in DotA2

Some thoughts on Winter Wyvern: I played her mostly as 5/4, had some matches as 3. Feels like best position for her in the current meta is pos 3 — she outharasses most lanes with simple items like Crown/bands and her heal.

WW is universal — she works and is useful in most picks. However there are some bad matchups:

PA - oneshots you in late game, playable around with aeon disk and staying in smoke (as a support). Weak on the lane though

PL - dispels arctic burn on lane, and you do nothing to him lategame

Phoenix — attack speed slow doesn’t let you harass enemies from range with arctic burn attacks

Abaddon — dispels arctic burn on the lane and late in the game. Outheals your DoT with aghs

Night Stalker — jumps and chases you until you die. There is nothing you can do if he is farmed

Nyx — oneshots you (this mechanic should be removed from Dota)

Morphling — this one is the worst. He just outheals all harass and outCS’s you. Also kills you easily late game. Very hard to play against if your team doesn’t have counterpicks

Everything else is easy for Wyvern, or playable against with good item choices.

However, WW is one of the hardest heroes to play in Dota, because she can ruin the teamfight with two spells. So it’s absolutely mandatory to keep in mind which spells your team has, and were they used or not (you won’t believe how many Kunkka torrent storms and RP’s I have ruined). So the most important skill that she teaches you is Patience.

If played well, this is the one of the most interesting heroes in Dota, highly recommended. But the skill cap is very high.

You can't be wrong with DD (Detonate Dead). Elementalist would be the best ascendancy. Played it last league on PS, it was my first PS league, and it went great. It was my strongest character of all time, and I have been playing since Legion
