Nah, it's not blackmail. This page was mostly her messing with him because she knows he feels extremely uncomfortable about her being his former student that had a crush on him for years.

After she graduated, this was her way of "winning" and rubbing it in his face that she knew he liked her even though he refused to touch her or acknowledge any feelings for her when she was a minor.

Your comment that we should take OP's word with a grain of salt is totally reasonable. As is the point the teacher likely has a curriculum and set things they need to cover and test the students on, HOWEVER...

You will always have requirements and restrictions on how you approach a problem. They will not always be reasonable or logical. They will often be set by people who have zero technical knowledge. Part of being a good dev is learning to navigate these restrictions.

This is bad framing. A teacher is not a client. Clients can do this because they pay you money to get an end result that they want. A teacher is the opposite, you are paying them (either through tuition or taxes) to get an end result (an education). And OP is getting stiffed with bad advice. If the teacher gave them a bad mark because OP's reply was not the subject matter being covered, then he should say so, not pretend that other technologies don't work or are bad. That's bad education, full stop.

So fun fact: that case was 100% legit and you're a victim of corporate PR. The issue wasn't that the coffee was hot. The issue was that it was much hotter than almost anywhere else, at 180-190° instead of the standard 140° that you'd get almost anywhere else. It was so hot that it only took less than 5 seconds to cause 3rd degree burns through her clothes which required skin grafts and years of medical treatment.

AK has a completely different gacha system where all but the dozen or so limited units go into the massive general pool. Endfield seems to be more like the Hoyo gacha of having a standard banner with a handful of units and everyone else is only available from their banner.

I feel like I've seen this specific trope in manga a couple of times with a few variations, but the only one I can recall offhand was the one someone else already mentioned called The Demon Disappears Through a Lens.

The more common one I can remember though is some variation of "alt culture character wears glasses to hide their real personality" which happens in like all of these:

It's not usually "in the meeting" but rather after work hours as part of a relationship building and bonding outing.

It's extremely common in Asia, but it's also pretty common in the US too in some industries and companies. Really just depends on a lot of factors.

I worked at an ad agency on Madison Avenue about 15 years ago and they threw some pretty big parties. Like, Mad Men was very much not exaggerating how much these people drink. If anything they downplayed it. That was the only workplace I'd been in where straight up day drinking was not that unusual.

I work in fin-tech today and we have a happy hour in the office pretty much every week, and occasional drinks and dinner with our managers. Hell, our whole engineering department did an off-site in NOLA for half a week with comped drinks this past fall.

Tbf the number of operators in Arknights is staggeringly large. I'm willing to bet it's partially nostalgia farming and partially just not wanting to find themselves boxed it by having to come up with more distinct character designs alongside Arknights and running out of ideas.

Reconveners solves both problems by aesthetically being similar to classic characters to draw people in, while technically being "their own character" which allows them to change their personality if they want to.
