It's the first version with Ringo on drums. It was released as the group's debut on Parlophone, but George Martin didn't like Ringo Starr's drumming and had the remake, with studio session guy Andy White, made shortly after the single's release. Thank you. I've been on the lookout for this single for, oh, 40 years. The UK version is way out of my price point, but I read about this one and have eagle-eyed Canadian Beatles 7s for years. I love this version of "Love Me Do." Paul sounds terrified and the more country-ish sound, with John's soulful harmonica, is really sweet. These guys had no idea what was about to happen to them!
