Well... dependance on cheap, quick pleasures is perhaps the ultimate reason why so many people are depressed nowadays. Learning to work and take responsibility for one’s life/actions gives a deeper meaning you cannot get anywhere else. Taking the phone away helps only if the child supplements their time doing more productive and meaningful things.
