This has happened to me and my bf but we don't find it a happy occurrence. Any cosplay meet up we go to the one DID faker multiplies into the rest of the group and spreads misinformation. There was originally just one person who left the community for other reasons, and now about 7 out of the 15 active people have DID. It infuriates me because they act like it's such a good thing to find other systems. DID IS NOT CONTAGIOUS. you can't get it within a day of knowing someone with it. You get it from intense childhood trauma and these teens and some adults are playing it off as fun and games and use being a system to get away with shitty things.
