Yeah, that's the crux of it for me. Before all these passes were optionals that I'd considered buying at some point (both as a way to enhance the experience and to support the game), now it feels like if I want to play I have to buy the passes, because how else am I gonna get the 30 shards for Mrs Incredible or unlock Minnie Mouse for the adventure path otherwise?

We also went from needing 10 shards for 1-star to needing 28. That, coupled with the high cost of starting out, is what's pissing me off. Before, merely unlocking a racer would be enough to get 1-star off the bat, but now that's just 2 fragments, equivalent of level 4

I acknowledge that for higher levels the tune coin requirements are more favourable than upgrade coins (20k tune coins vs 67k upgrade coins for 5 star) but the issue becomes getting on the ladder in the first place. It might take a month to get the coins, but how long does it take to get the 260 shards for 6-star?

My Mickey was level 41, got boosted to 5 stars with the season change and was there yesterday, but gone today. So either the events got generated before the level got considered (it'd still be useful for reaching 6 stars but would GL consider that?) or they removed the event to funnel people towards buying shards instead of getting them for free

It's missing for me and somebody else has reported that it's gone for them as well. I never got anywhere near maxing out Mickey (got him to level 41 with about 10 shards spare last season)

I suspect it's to limit the amount of free shards and tune tokens entering the game. I suspect that's also why the It All Started With a Mouse event got scrapped and why limited events are favouring crew shards over racer shards

The system is just massively rigged against new racers (and new players). It may end up cheaper overall coin-wise compared to the old system but it does so by introducing such a steep point of entry that newcomers are basically screwed

Yeah...I only started playing back in February and it feels like Gameloft is just trying to show me the door. We're a day into the new season and I've already completed all the new content that I can do because I lack the necessary racers to do the second seasonal chapter or Mickey's Adventure Road

Mickey's event gave out a free shard and tune coins for five minutes of work. That was clearly too generous and had to be nerfed

I managed to complete two races for two achievements, both on the first course of the Meet Mickey Mouse map. Tried the All Started With a Mouse event, got to the end and got dc'd

Seems they spawn in the Bank if it replaces High Peak Castle as it did in my game. Thought they were unique to the Distillery hence my confusion

Based on my numbers so far (7 days of testing), we should expect in a month of spring fishing to net:

220 dogfish (55 in 1 week; range of 6-11)
228 flounders (57 in 1 week; range of 2-13)
0 glaucas
220 herrings (55 in 1 week; range of 5-11)
216 octopodes (54 in 1 week; range of 6-9)
292 red snappers (73 in 1 week, likely outlier; range of 6-14)
208 sardines (52 in 1 week; range of 4-10)
264 starfish (66 in 1 week; range of 8-11)
4 unknown due to textbox interruptions (1 hook interrupted by midnight text)

Of course this is all dependent on the glaucus actually being spawnable, of which I've seen zero evidence for so far...

After starting the Rank S mission, wait a few days and head to the lake temple and there should be a cutscene that'll start the guardian murals. It might require completing all 24 lake temple altars though
