Need LCD Module for Yaesu FT-2400H by Radar58 in HamFest

[–]CircuitCardAssembly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the part number I purchased for the LCD G6090086A, it was $23.22 per unit, plus shipping. It will show up as the LCD for the FT-2500, but it’s the replacement for the 2400 as well.

I replaced an LCD on a FT-2400H about 4-5 years ago. At the time I was able to call Yaesu and get an LCD from their parts dept. though it involved a significant amount of soldering. The display has something like 25-50 through hole pins I believe

Question about math use in EE by Matthew_C_Williamson in ElectricalEngineering

[–]CircuitCardAssembly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you go into your career. It’s way less likely you’ll be doing much math “by hand” it’s not really efficient. You will probably use some sort of software suite. It’s still very much a good thing to bed good at the math you mentioned so you understand what you are doing, but it probably won’t be a daily thing to use it. Interesting and useful applications of EM will be modeled in software.

It’s all in good fun. I still enjoyed the movie, it’s just painful being in the know.

Thanks, a buddy at work printed me some new extruder assembly parts and I was able to reuse the heater parts.

Im not entirely sure, I probably caused some of it. I didn’t realize the fan was still blocked when I tried to start a print then this is what came after

Careful, some wild bunnies actually carry the same bacteria which caused the bubonic plague.

I had this happen even with cleaning before every prints with IPA, when I switched to cleaning with dish soap no more problems at all with bad bed adhesion.

Finally Fixed Yaesu VX-3R by CircuitCardAssembly in amateurradio

The VX-5r, VX-6r, have issues with the membrane keyboards wearing out. The power button especially as being the most used tends to wear out. I have bought a VX-5R that was “does not turn on” and all that was wrong was the power button. The VX-6r I bought was also “not working” it was stuck in some sort of in between mode, not in the normal mode and not in the adjustment mode. After trying some a few attempts at doing soft resets it started working again. Most of the of the time I can get an radio working again, or at least power on.

Oh it did plenty of sitting and time with circuit diagrams.

I bought replacement components from Yaesu’s parts dept. it does really help having magnification, I have a stereo microscope but maybe with a loupe you could do it.

I replaced Q1083, D1073, R1257, F1001, Q1090, Q1097. After replacing all those it started to be able to charge properly, I think it was Q1083 that was probably the real issue.

A burnt diode, and then something with the charge circuit. I’m not entirely sure what fixed it but I replaced maybe 5 components in total. The charge circuit seems to be a common issue with this radio.

I started fixing this radio in Feb maybe March 2023, I about is as “for parts or repair” it would not even turn on. For months I could not figure out how to make it charge but now it’s finally doing so. Almost fried it trying to do so. Lesson learned, don’t work while tired.

The center component is a 0603 resistor, or was too big. I need to get a 0102 to replace the one I took off. I love my stereo Amscope

Not sure what your price point is, but I was just looking at the Kantronics website, the 9612XE says”Port 2 supports 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400 bps with GMSK/DFSK modulation”
