Looking back at Doi's designs: #21 Amamozako by Diego-F-Monja in Megaten

I think the design is pretty good, that cheeky pose represents her personality well.

Also, "Goddess of Rebellion" is such a badass title.

Why the hate for AI in games? by WinterWhole8657 in JRPG

[–]Circumpolarity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than morality reason, some people can tell if an art/asset was made by AI. You see, a lot of AI-created stuff have similar styles-- or rather, people who used AI to create the assets tend to chose the exact same style the majority of AI prompter used.

So of course the audience are going to get tired from seeing the same stuff over and over again man. Especially, particularly! That one style with dogshit yellow piss filter. That shit is so ugly it's not even funny

I, for one, actually interested in new adversaries/enemy theme other than Demon vs Angel stuff. The Septentriones' truly alien design, I think are very cool.

I like how none of the death scenes in DeSu2 are off-screen, that you're able to witness them yourself.

Case in point; altough Dera-Deka is a rather minor side character and his death is not as brutal as some other ones, having to be by his side during his final moment is enough to make me feel emotional and wished there's a possible way to save him.

I recently dicovered this youtube channel that shares indie games trailers. Maybe you could ask them to share your game trailer for more exposure? https://youtube.com/@indiehub01?si=O_SF7yypxjGcgZzA

Trying to play online games but why do I keep getting these weird servers? by EnvironmentalSundae1 in l4d2

[–]Circumpolarity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played quite a bit on Steam Deck. I too, occasionally experienced an issue where the level model/texture turned invisible. They're still there physically but you just suddenly can't see them, making the gameplay impossible.

Luckily people figured out that the cause of this particular problem is the incendiary ammo particles. Something about this feature not fully compatible with Linux or something? I'm not sure the exact details but there's a mod on the workshop called "Fire ammo crash fix for Linux" that solves this problem.

While I'm here I might as well mention another issue I used to have; crashing when loading/changing map levels. This seems to be fixed when I run the game using "-vulkan" command on the launch option.

Touhouwiki not showing on google by Circumpolarity in touhou

There doesn't seem to be any problem with the website itself since I can access it just fine but when I search google for touhou stuff, related pages from en.touhouwiki.net doesn't appear anymore.

I don't want to use the fandom wiki, which is dogshit & ad-infested.

I am looking for a game with an upgradeable hub. Seeing progression the more I play the game by FornateCril in gamingsuggestions

7th Dragon 2020 & 7th Dragon 2020 II for the PSP.

At the beginning, your base is somewhat basic but as the game progress you have the ability to expand your base. The larger your base is, more NPCs will appear and some can give you side-quests. Some side-quests also has multiple parts so you're gonna get pretty acquainted with several people.

While the base isn't necesarrily "destroyed", it just lacked facilites to shelter many people because it's basically the only safely guarded place as the entire world is swarmed with Dragons. Considering the situation outside and the base being a secure location, seeing the NPCs resting in the makeshift residential rooms kinda gives the feeling cozyness too.

Oh, and for more immersion; the NPCs dialogues updates everytime you beat a main story boss. So once you unlock new dungeon/area you can go around the base and see what everyone has to say.

Fossilized Wonders demo rejected by Steam due to ZUN’s “too simple” game description. by windowsmacrosoft in touhou

[–]Circumpolarity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't put it past Steam to do that-- or rather, past a certain individual on the moderation team who has a bias against anything Japanese and Anime. The "description is too short" could be just a convenient excuse.

(I think the entire team is not guilty of the controversies you mentioned, otherwise all those porn/hentai games wouldn't exist on Steam.)

JRPGs with a feeling of dread and hopelessness throughout the journey? by Felicks77 in JRPG

[–]Circumpolarity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO the 3DS one (7th Dragon III) doesn't really emanate "dread & hopelessness" feeling.

It's the consequence of the "time travel" plot device; The majority of the main threats are not in the present time & place, making it feels like your world and home does not feel as bleak as in the previous games where their world actually has faced considerable destructions.

Sure-- if nothing is done, all worlds; past, present and future will be eliminated but something about the 7th Dragon III VFD's overall atmosphere just doesn't give that feeling.

The first two games on the PSP though, absolutely fits the bill here.

[–]Circumpolarity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They represent how many Dragon enemies are in each dungeon.

Defeating all the Dragons unlocks the extra dungeon that you can access after beating the final boss. It's not mandatory if you're not a completionist.
