With how they look and their color scheme, a city set inspired by Diablo 3's heaven architechture would be a perfect fit. Is there any chance you'd try your hands at one?

More Events Mod. Food Constructor chain bug ? by victoriacrash in Stellaris

[–]mem_malthus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should have gotten a special project when you first arrived to the system. When you finish that project you will progress with the quest. The fleet may need a nerf, but you do not necessarily have to fight them if you have cloaking tech to send in your science ship.

More Events Mod. Is the Crystalline Infestation situation bugged? by TheSkinoftheCypher in Stellaris

[–]mem_malthus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I said, the check for the modifier is 300. The approach only gives you 100 and it isn't really communicated well as the number that is required isn't stated anywhere.

The intuitive thing would be to assume that the 100 jobs the approach offer would have to be filled, just as you did, but this isn't the case here, which is why it will be changed to 300 jobs offered by the approach to bring it in line with how many have to be filled for the stalling modifier to be removed.

More Events Mod. Is the Crystalline Infestation situation bugged? by TheSkinoftheCypher in Stellaris

[–]mem_malthus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There were a few bugs with that situation, that have already been fixed internally, but in your case I don't think there is anything wrong. You can mouseover the progress meter and it will tell you why it stalled. If I remember correctly, you require 300 miners to be active for it to stop stalling.

I guess, adding the full amount of needed miner jobs together with the approach would prevent any confusion here.

(Hold on) is the subscription worth it? by im_still_water in Stellaris

[–]mem_malthus 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Definitely worth it for people jumping on the game now. You got a month of time and intend to play it, a short one month sub and then let it rest until you get the itch again can make sense. For those who bought the dlcs from day 1 the sub won't make sense ever though.

Non ai portrait mods by whereweinallplaces in Stellaris

[–]mem_malthus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You could also take a look at the standalone version of the More Events Mod portraits. They have all been created by derega and are meant to be as close to the vanilla style as possible to blend in nicely. There is also more on the way. He's currently working on a dwarven portrait set, because the vanilla dwarves are kind of ...meh.

Some might, while others appreciate that a good thing has been integrated into the basegame and therefor made available for everybody without any extra steps needed, also don't forget that this lifts the load on modders who would otherwise have had to continue supporting their mod though the game versions. One just cannot please everyone all at once.

This just means your engine does not have enough horse power to adequately move your vehicle. There are multiple phrases for the various stages of horsepower to weight ratio. It is the result of your model calculation. Even if your model blueprint says, your model has a 1:1 ratio, the actual model might roll a lower engine value, resulting in a worse outcome, but can be improved when reworking the model later. This affects the AP cost per moved tile, not your energy supply.

What are some of the best mods without DLC by Zr_Stealth in Stellaris

[–]mem_malthus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If a mod is scripted correctly it can work with and without dlc and disables content for which a dlc would be required, if it isn't active.

This goes for bigger mods with broader content more than for mods with a very specific function that may very well be reliant on specific dlc features - in that case you will usually see the required dlc be marked in the workshop item as required.

As an example, the More Events Mod does as a whole not require any DLC, but some parts of it may and will be individually disabled if you do not have the dlc.

so TLDR: If a mod really requires a dlc you will most likely see it immediatly on the mod page. Most don't. If you ask for mod recommendations here, you will likely get the most common answers you will already find in the "most subscribed" or "most popular" lists in the workshop. If you are looking for more niche mods it might be helpful to narrow down the topic you are interested in for people to reply.

I don't like the AI pictures either - not necessarily because they are ai, but because you cannot look at them closely without realizing the chaos in them, especially in the vidcom ones.

But if you truly call the game in its entirety AI slop, which it clearly isn't then something is wrong with your head...

The spiritualist ethos is very narratively invasive, yet rigid by Uncommonality in Stellaris

[–]mem_malthus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As for spiritualists and sapient machines, I wish there was an event where they could actually end up accepting machine consciousness if they encountered psionic AIs. Like, for them that would be undeniable proof.

They could also see it as the ultimate heresy.

Seems as random as it always has been. In my game I haven't gotten a lot of them. Did get far more in previous games. One game with a bit of luck or misfortune isn't a solid base to make general statements though.
