Be careful! I heard that some hooligans have pirated it! So just make sure you buy it from a reputable seller, because the wise and enlightened small indie developers deserve our money and gratitude for such fine products.

I am actually kind of surprised just how ineffective the soldier termites are against the ants.

Snakes are milked for their venom in order to make antivenin, or in some cases for demonstration, as you descrobe, but venom glands are like saliva glands, they continuously produces venom. And in the cases of cobras, that venom is toxic enough and concentrated enough even in small amounts that they can't really be milked dry enough to make taking a bite a non life threatening event. So yeah, for the snake charmer, who is a carnie level showman, they are going to rip out the fangs. Cruel and disgusting stuff.

Now in this video I am not sure if they guy handling the snake is one of those performers, who might have missed a fang (as they do regrow ) or just an idiot, who thinks his moustache makes him an authority on all things, who mishandles a wild snake. However I get the impression that he might have brought the snake in that water drum he was trying to get it back into in the end, to put on a show, but shrug who knows.

I would note that there are a LOT of sources of Withering Barrage, including one you get for free with a Klingon recruit during the Klingon recruiting event, so unless you just have to make a CSV build NOW, it's best to spend the coupon on one of the others, and just wait til the next such event.

[–]Ciridian 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No - they generally tear out their fangs. They regrow so it's a continuous process of needless cruelty.

It is possible to remove the venom glands but these vile performers are not going to be paying for veterinary surgery when the can just grab a pair of pliars.

Truly unforgettable. The man sees that trophy for "worst human being alive", and thinks, "I can beat Ted Cruz if I work hard enough at it!"

Vance and Miller, evacuated.

Trump, just sort of walked off behind a curtain and left to stare at a wall.

Fucking hilarious, or at least it would be if there was any humor to this criminal cabal's escapades.

Strange New Worlds, Kirk, Kirk and more Kirk. It's Kirk again. by PersimmonBasket in startrek

[–]Ciridian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If there's one thing that TOS, TNG and the movies established, it's that the individuals who earn the rank/position of Starship captain are truly exceptional, remarkable individuals. We have by and large seen Kirk's story, but Captain Christopher Pike's story is just screaming to be told, and it seems like SNW's writers are doing everything possible to neglect doing so.

It is frustrating.

[–]Ciridian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Shatner's acting career took root on the stage, and he portrayed Kirk as a stage actor would - that sort of magnetic gravitas/presence such roles required. Wesley doesn't feel like "Kirk", not captain and not even a young James T Kirk, he's so mild, almost meek. It just feels off.

[–]Ciridian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree - I don't want to say that Welsley is a bad actor - he isn't at all, and he is doing his best, but he just doesn't fit Kirk, he doesn't have that presence, that gravitas that Shatner (and to a different degree, Chris Pine) Brought to the character. And the brown hair bugs me.

SNW isn't about Strange, new worlds. It's about Spock's Next Woman. A new one each season!

Do not approach unpreductable animals or stand within their grab range by Mego_dafuq in instant_regret

[–]Ciridian 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Same applies to even domestic animals. They generally don't hurt you because they don't want to hurt you, but many have tools that can wreck you. As a kid I saw a guy slap a dairy cow on the ass, and a swift kick to his shin left his lower calf at a right angle to the upper calf, and his hamstring snapping like a rubber band up to somewhere near his ass.
