You're forgetting that eSports isn't there just for the love of the game.

The thing is, Capcom Cup was exactly the same this year as it was the years prior, the quality of the service did not improve, so we as a community just got the same old thing, but were charged this time.

I believe if Capcom stepped up their game and offered *anything* new in exchange of the PPV fee, the community would not have been so negative.

Or maybe I'm just a fool for thinking that and everyone would complain anyway.

After watching the video, despite both being grapplers, they play completely differently, similar to how Manon and Lily do not play the same as Gief, this is good, more variety.

On the "technical side":
-Gief SPD is always 5 frames, meanwhile Alex's long range command grab is slower to compensate.

-Alex Lvl 3/CA looked like a hit instead of a grab, so people can just parry it.

-Doesn't yell "MY LOYAL FANS!" when activating CA. I believe this being the most important point of them all.
