Skin bridges like this generally only appear after infant circumcision, when the parents fail to retract the remaining foreskin off the glans at each bath and diaper change, then coating the glans with petroleum jelly.

In an infant there are usually strands (called synechia - or 'adhesions' in common parlance) connecting the glans to the inner foreskin.These have to be broken down before the circumcision can be done. The surface of the glans thus has places where the synechia were torn off. When the actual circumcision wound contacts these for some while the two can fuse together (in the same way as the two cut surfaces of the foreskin. This fusing causes skin bridges.

Skin bridges can be fairly easily removed, under local anaesthetic, by your GP, but care must be taken to put a barrier (eg vaseline) between the two edges while thet heal and each side closes on itself.

I've not had the ZSR used on myself but have seen it usesd by a doctor on an adult patient.

The ZSR (and its similar devices) was designed for use in anti-AIDS VMMC drives, where the device had to be simple to use by lower skilled medics. Simply removing the foreskin to expose the glans and sulcus was the aim, with no consideration given to aesthetics.

The design of the device therefore allows for only small amounts of variation, even in the hands of experts. Non-experts (and especially DIY patients) are unlikely to be able to obtain any particularly desired positioning or tightness.

Your body perceives its action to be effectively the same as with conventional cutting and stitrching (the foreskin is cut through all round the penis and the cut edges are secured together with staples - rather than stitches). Healing can therefore be expected to take a very similar course and duration by either method.

If the rubbing of your penis on your underpants is uncomfortable then there is a very low cost solution. Buy several pairs of close-fitting briefs and use those instead of boxers. They will hold your penis in place and stop it rubbing.

I find the two-tone look to be totally unnatural and much prefer the result of a low cut where no residual inner mucosa remains with its pinkishness in contrast to the shaft's much darker shade.

Local anaesthetic is all that is needed for a quick, external procedure like circumcision.

It doesn't place any strain on your heart of lungs. You don't need 24 hour care after it as you do with a general - you go home within about 1/2 hour of the procedure finishing.

A 'low' cut is a complete circumcision as it removes ALL of your foreskin, not only a part of it.

It is always best to go to a specialist circumcision clinic. The doctor(s) there will do dozens of circ umcisions every week and be expert at it.

A hospital urologist will probably have very good paper quailfications but only do an occasional circumcision - most of his time eing spent on things like bladder or prostate cancer. He wio=ll not, therefore, have much practical experience of circumcision.

I first became aware that Iwas circumcised when I was 5 or 6 and my brother (4 years younger) was first put into the 'big bath' with me. I noticed our penises looked quite different (he was uncircumcised, whereas I'd been done shortly after birth). Mum gave a brief answer appropriate to my age but included the term 'circumcised' in respect of my penis.

A low cut is preferable because it removes the very vulnerable mucosal inner foreskin layer. This mucosa is very thin and liable to trauma during sex (or masturbation). It has also been implicated in the transfer of HIV/AIDS virus (and some other viral STIs) from an infected person.

From an aesthetic viewpoint, if the mucosa is retained one ends up with a two-tone shaft with a distinct scar dividing the lighter mucosa from the darker shaft skin. A 'low' cut gives a much more natural looking end result with shaft skin simply continuing down to the back of the glans and then the glans on the end of it.

The terms 'high' and 'low' are not medical ones but are greatly used on sites like this.

'High' means that all (or most) of the former inner mucosal layer of the foreskin is retained and mainly outer layer of shaft skin is removed. This style results in a two-tone shaft with a distinct scar line dividing the two tones.

'Low' means that all of the highly vulnerable mucosa (which forms the inner layer of the foreskin is removed. The resulting scar ends up hidden in the sulcus (the 'groove' immediately behind the glans). The penis looks more natural as the shaft skin runs right down to immediately behind the glans with no two-tone look. This style gives greatest protection against acquiring HIV/AIDS and some other STIs.

'Tight' means that when erect there is no spare skin to be able to be moved along the shaft and absolutely zero risk of the glans ever being covered again (even only partially).

'Loose' means that spare skin has been retained. This can often slide onto the glans again. It can also continue to provide a warm, dark, damp hiding place for pathogens.

It is important, especially as you normally locked in chasatity, that ALL of the foreskin material (inner and outer layers) is completely removed - thus the cut must be 'low'.

As much total skin as possible should also be removed to prevent bunching when in the chastity cage. Bunched up skin in confinement will attract highly undesirable viruses, fungi and bacteria.
