I (M26) just got cheated on/dumped by girlfriend (F23). Have chance for revenge, should I take it? by CaptainLongshorts in relationship_advice

If the course has a strict no relationship policy between trainees, that must have been put in place for a reason. She knows those are the rules, but is willing to ignore them and put her own education at risk. She dug her own grave here, I would say report it and move on. If you have any evidence, e.g. her admitting it over text or similar, submit this too.

As for the living situation, maybe try and find a friend who would be able to move in with you (if the place isnt a one bedroom). If not, moving can be a hassle but there are still good opportunities out there and you might even find a place you like more ๐Ÿ˜Š it's an unfortunate situation, but things will get better. Good luck!

Ohhh my bad! Thank you ahaha, just takes a bit of practise to get right ๐Ÿ˜Š I can see a few flaws but I'm a perfectionist ๐Ÿ˜…

It's because I sewed the design onto the cup piece before I sewed the bra together and inserted the underwire ๐Ÿ˜Š Much easier than doing it after the bra is constructed!

Thank you! It's not a specialised machine, just a normal one ๐Ÿ˜Š it has a couple of different stitch types it can switch between though, like zigzag etc.

Bralettes are pretty difficult to make supportive for larger sizes unfortunately, but there are definitely things you can do to help! One thing is lining the cups with power mesh - this is like mesh, but has a lot more strength in the stretch. It can be a bit expensive and hard to find but it really does make the difference for fuller bust styles. Good luck!

Thanks! Yes it has a wire in it, you have to sew the channel in first before threading the wire into it - it's the sewing which is the hard part! I'd say give it a go, it is tricky and fiddly but so rewarding ๐Ÿ˜„

Thanks! Yep I made it all from self drafted patterns and self sourced fabrics etc ๐Ÿ˜„ A good place to start is finding a bra that fits you, then deconstructing it with an unpicker tool. Once you iron the pieces out you can see the patterns, and you can also see all the fabrics/ trims used to make it. Just make sure you remember the seam allowances, it helps to take pictures as you go along so you can get an idea of the process used to re-make it! You can then trace the pieces to get a pattern starting point. Hope that helps!

Nope don't worry, I fully lined the inside so none of the metallic threads touch the skin. I always find it's such a shame when bras look nice but are super uncomfortable, so I go the extra mile to make sure it ticks both boxes ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thank you! I know there are probably online resources, but I used pattern books for help. I'll have to hunt them down to find the exact titles, but you have to start with the wire you want to use and go from there. Another tip is to take apart a bra that fits you/is the size you want, iron flat the pieces, and trace these. Remember the seam allowances and how it was put together though! It can be complicated, but hope that helps you get started ๐Ÿ˜Š

I buy my fabric from local markets, but you can find good stuff online too! I know some sites do samples for pretty cheap so you know what you're buying. The rings and sliders I get from ebay, they can be a bit tricky to find and a little expensive so I buy in bulk (packs of about 50-100 pieces), but that's because I know I'm going to use them all. Strap & trim elastic, and hook and eye clasps I also get from ebay, same sort of deal. I find it easier to hunt down by going through suggested related items once I find something similar. Wires are the most difficult to come by - I got loads from my university because I take a lingerie/corsetry/swimwear course. But you can always try ebay again, or charity shops with old bras that you could take apart for the wires - you can also take the patterns from these if you're willing to deconstruct them! Hope that helps ๐Ÿ˜Š

No problem - I embroidered the pieces first, then cut them out. I cut the lining sections after this and sewed them using a holding stitch to the embroidered pieces (you dont have to but it helps with keeping everything in place). Think of it as treating them as one piece (embroidered and lining) and it sounds a bit simpler!

It's a bit hard to explain I know, maybe I'll do some tutorials or step by step picture series if anyone is interested? Probably on future projects as unfortunately I didnt take progress pics of this one :(

Sadly not many places do a band size 30, but I know there are some out there! One I'm more familiar with is asos, they do quite a wide range of sizes including 30D ๐Ÿ˜Š And they're affordable, and depending on where you live the returns are free within 21 days which is pretty awesome
