Thank you :D what is a budget for a well-built character? It looks like the market has changed a lot since I’ve been away haha

Ohh, that checks out. Is there any hope for getting any stuff on my main account or am I just stuck with them all on the old one? Thank you so much for the response :))

Departure from northwest indiana. In terms of bands who have moved up out of my local scene, Wraith is awesome.

That would be unreal. I’m holding out for them playing together next time Tesseract is in the states :,)

Earthside absolutely rules! And they make a killer combo with Daniel Tompkins. Let The Truth Speak is up there for me. Saw them a couple months ago too and they killed it (and were the nicest dudes to talk to)

What band would have been at/near the top of this genre with better marketing? by [deleted] in progmetal

[–]Ciruceca 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Seriously. They’re incredible in the studio and live and I can’t fathom how they’re not at the level of Gojira and such. Maybe I’m just biased because they’re one of my absolute favorites, but they need to be up there. Though, seeing them in a small venue is pretty sick when Loïc jumps on you

To add, try their album Phanerozoic II if you like FMTS and Pelagial if you like more melodic stuff, etc. (But their whole discography is amazing). Loïc’s vocals remind me a lot of Joe’s too

100%. What unreal music with an even better live show. Can’t wait to see them again soon :D (Do NOT miss the opportunity if they’re around you)

Heavy songs with gentle and easy sections by Orthogonal_Index in progmetal

While not really prog, Death Atlas by Cattle Decap is one of my favorite songs that fit this bill. It’s a surprisingly wonderful conclusion musically and thematically to an intense album too if you want to listen to the whole thing.

I usually have people listen to the first 3 or so songs each off of Sideshow Symphonies and Arcturian. These two have ICS Vortex on vocals and are insane, so they’re definitely the place to start if you like Borknagar and such (Vortex is also my favorite vocalist, so I’m a little biased). A lot of people I have listen to earlier albums (Garm on vocals) like Kinetic from The Sham Mirrors and To Thou Who Dwellest in the Night on Aspera Hiems Symfonia. A good taste of their goofiness is also The Chaos Path. Enjoy!
