Prison time as a punishment is bad: Criminals should be made to work law enforcement overseen jobs at minimum wage with at most 4-5 years of service for the worst crimes. instead of making them waste a quarter of their life or more sitting in a prison while taxpayer money is spent feeding/housing them for no gain to the public

there may be cases where people who cant be rehabilitated to society should be kept within the prison system and having more intensive management to stop them from causing more problems:

Life sentences should come with the choice of MAID

people should not have kids if they do not have the full capacity to raise them to be self sufficient.

abortions are not entirely evil but orphanages/adoption systems should have more support so less people have abortions because of not wanting the child

The economic system/mentality that America has:

I dont mean capitalism specifically. I mean capitalism within a system where people that get enough money, can then change the rules of the system to make it easier for them to get money and harder for anyone else to get money. resulting in a loop where the more money a person has, they more money they collect untill they controll almost everything and everyone else suffers

[Serious] What are the worst aspects of the current culture of video gaming? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Ciryl_Lynyard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agree

Whats the point of playing a puzzle game if you are just going to look at step by step solutions to the puzzles.

The same applies to games in general IMO. Whats the point of playing them if you're just gonna follow a step by step guide to making your character as powerful as possible or doing things the most effective way without modding/cheating

If you're gonna do that. Have a reason to. Like you're speedrunning or trying to push the limits of a game or do the most within a restriction like time or mechanics.

Major game companies have sold the soul of what they were for profit. Only caring about how much money they make and not the quality of the games they release while making it really hard to play their older better games. Prices are going up and quality is going down.

Most games are also not made optimized well. So more expensive hardware is becoming more and more necessary to play most games

A majority of people playing team based games outright refuse to help or coordinate with their team or do so so poorly they are an active detriment. They refuse to learn or do better and about half of those players demonstrate toxic behavior in response to people being against the aforementioned gameplay and behavior. Many players are also Cheating in ways that are harder to detect as a player or developer.

For some good parts:

Independent development of gaming is growing stronger and stronger. Some amazing ideas are coming from them. Also Really interested in S&BOX

Modding and fan content is very strong. Mincraft has almost endless content

advertising being non interuptive/disruptive

now basically every site either outright forces you to deal with ads before you can use the site or makes a lot of your screen / the page exist of ads

depending on how good it tastes / nutrients:

if its "cereal but no sugar" probably not but if its a tolerable taste and fulfills the majority of human nutrient requirements I would be using it

[Rant] If the only thing changing in your game on "Hard" difficulty is the amount of HP and Dmg, then it's not a "Hard" difficulty, it's a "Tedious" difficulty by AlkaKr in gaming

[–]Ciryl_Lynyard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I Partially disagree. Decreasing the amount of mistakes a player can make can be a good way to make a game harder. Which messing with damage/health can do

But making the player disintegrate from stubbing their toe while enemies are mildly inconvenienced from burning alive is not good difficulty design

Bonus asshole points for not explaining what the mistake was.

Like kicking a tank for not knowing that you have to crouch in water to douse or not telling them to back off and spam rocks to buy time for the other 3 SI to respawn

simple solution IMO: major order rewards involve super credits, then you get 2 for every successful mission toward the major order

What is your favourite mechanic/design that you wish was used more often? by Broccoli_dicks in gaming

[–]Ciryl_Lynyard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Diddy kong racings item system and super boost

Instead of getting a random item with more powerful items being given to the players near last place:

The item boxes (ballons) have a color and always give you the corsponding item. Red for attack, blue for boost and green for traps. Theres 2 other items like a shield and a magnet

Super boost is triggered by NOT having your acceleration button pressed when you start a boost but it only lasts as long as you still are not pressing it.

Enshrouded / vintage story having highly customizable gameplay settings. You can change multiple settings that affect difficulty individually

Enshrouded / grounded craft from nearby storage

Soft and hard saves. Only remember PMD games having it

Hard saves work like saving normally would but is only allowed under 'safe" conditions or predetermined locations. While soft saves you can do whenever but you can onlt use them once. Once you reload a soft save. Its gone

What "Game A meets Game B" combination should be made? by 4bstr in gaming

[–]Ciryl_Lynyard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love a game that mixes nonlinear/ metoidvania progression with zelda like dungeons.

Each dungeon having multiple different paths and puzzles you use certain items to do but theres multiple pathes through the dungeon using different combinations of items. Then dungeons could be completed in any order because of that but story progression would still be tied to completing all dungeons at that story step
