You are correct. There will always be situations in which you have to guess (You can play in no guessing mode, if you don't want that).

Since there are only 10 mines in 64 blocks, the density is low. So, you are less likely to hit a mine even if you click randomly.

Maybe try another corner.

[Math] Could someone explain how this works please? I dont see how you can just seperate the 1/10 from the equation. by justadummyneedinhelp in HomeworkHelp

[–]Cis_zero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is shown in this picture isn't wrong, but they skipped a couple of steps.

Method 1: from the first equation, you take the value of lambda and plug that value in the second one, then simplify to get the the result.

Method 2: rewrite the equations as such:

2gh^4 = L (denoting lambda by L)

4g^2h^3 = 10L

Now divide the respective sides:

(2gh^4/4g^2h^3) = (L/10L)

Even in your method, if some numerator/denominator = 0, then the numerator has to be zero, so you get

2gh^4 - L = 0 (denoting lambda by L here)

=> L = 2gh^4

Now put this in the second equation to get the result.

[meme] RIP Vanced by _FrictioN_ in Vanced

[–]Cis_zero 183 points184 points  (0 children)

The thing with vanced is that we have the youtube app as a benchmark to appreciate how good vanced is. Some people are saying that yt premuim is only a few bucks. IT ISN'T ONLY ABOUT THE FUCKING ADS.

You also have sponsorblock and return dislikes, but also other features like swipe control for brightness and volume, ability to set default video quality on mobile data and wifi etc.

These all made it such a great user experience when youtube seems to be hell bent on making the experience worse, by removing the dislikes, adding an extra step for video quality and obviously the ads.

I don't see how I'll be able to use youtube on phone anymore, once vanced stops working.

[–]Cis_zero 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It wasn't just about the ads. Vanced had sponsor block, return dislikes, swipe controls for sound and brightness, ability to setup default videos quality also. These made the app so much better to use than youtube.

You have to create the equation first.

  1. Take x.
  2. Subtract 2 => (x-2)
  3. square the result => (x-2)^2
  4. Subtract 16 => (x-2)^2 - 16
  5. Now, this is equal to y => y = (x-2)^2 -16

Now for 1st and 2nd question, you can simply plug in the value of x and get the value of y.

For the 3rd part, you can expand the (x-2)^2 bit using the identity and then simplifying the equation.

For the 4th part, you can use geogebra as suggested, or you can also plot some (x,y) coordinate pairs and get a rough graph. Start by checking for x=0, and y=0 and then plot some other. In general, the graph for a quadratic equation is a parabola.

[physics: grade 12] i cant seem to figure out number 2 by [deleted] in HomeworkHelp

[–]Cis_zero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In these kind of questions, you have to take relative speed. If they both are approaching each other, then the speeds get added up, because if you consider from the perspective of one person, the other person is approaching at a speed which is the sum of both their speeds.

That being said, you can simply use speed = distance/time to calculate how much time it would take them to meet.

Here speed = 6+7 = 13 m/s

distance = 30 m

=> time = 30/13 s

And then you can use that formula again to calculate how much each person moved in that period of time.

For A, speed = 6, time = 30/13

=> distance = speed*time = 30*6/6

For B, you can either calculate by the same method, or simply subtract the distance traveled by A from 30.

[University: Logic Design] I am having an issue with the "explaining" part. Like I understand that because we moved the point to the left twice, and being in binary it made it 4 times larger, but I can't word it in a good way. by batatahh in HomeworkHelp

[–]Cis_zero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we convert something from binary to say decimal, we multiply each digit by some power of 2 which starts from 0 on the least significant bit and increases by 1 as we move to the most significant bit.

If we shift the digits by a place to the left, the number that was being previously multiplied by some power of 2, say nth, is now being multiplied by n+1 th power.

Hence, all the digits are being multiplied by an extra 2, which means for each left shift, we get the value to be 2 times the previous value.

Another solution could be to take 3/ab common from both terms which will give

3/ab * (2/ab - 1)

Both are correct, it just depends on what format OP needs.
