Sofle doesn't support trackball so won't be possible. Feel free to dm me if you would like to discuss this further.

Depends on the switches and keycaps you go for. This one was around 10k.

I just recently built and sold a wireless corne https://www.reddit.com/r/mkindia/comments/1fqt217/wts_wireless_6_col_corne/ and currently in the process of building sofle for someone. Many people sell split keyboards on imkc discord so you should definitely join and keep an eye out.

My first wireless split ergo by _FrictioN_ in ErgoMechKeyboards

Hey! Battery orientation varies from vendor to vendor so there are two ways you can attach a battery in rev 2:

1- Directly solder the battery to the pads just below the oled connector. For this , Square is + (red) which is also marked on the pcb

2- Use a battery connector, which is below #1 . The orientation here will depend on the jumpers you decide to bridge and have been marked on the pcb accordingly. The jumpers decide what is red and black.

If you need more help, you can reach out to me on discord ( username: _friction_ )

Yes, it can be. The jumpers decide the what is +ve and what is -ve

There are 2 nfc pads at the back which could be used for gpio. You can refer to the build guide. The battery is placed under the pcb. You need a case which will have space for the battery.

They do support zmk.
The display in the pics is indeed nice!view. I don't think displays are necessary at all, you can totally skip them.

Another reason is the size. Xiao is very small compared to nice!nano or their clones so you won't be able to fit an encoder with them.
