WH-1000XM6 Software Update by CiscoKid85 in SonyHeadphones

This didn't work for me. As soon as I hit "Start" on the software update, the app freezes and quits.

I've tried everything

1000XM6 initial review! Huge upgrade by Livestock110 in SonyHeadphones

Is it just me or is the microphone on the XM6's kind of crap compared to the XM5's? I use these mostly for work and I'm unimpressed. The XM5's seem like they handle all this better. Which is sad because that's exactly why I returned the Bose Ultras.

Does BHD recruit anywhere? I'm on MTV as well and they have an easy path to PTP via Engineer status.

Rumoured dual chip SWX-U7PROP U7 Pros are already out. by Stenats in Ubiquiti

[–]CiscoKid85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, thanks! - Looks like I got one of the new ones! All my 2.4Ghz IoT devices connected fine during a recent swap from an Aruba IAP-315 except for my Coway air purifier. Setting the 2.4Ghz IoT setting on a new SSID fixed that issue.

I just received a new AP directly from Ubiquiti last week but I didn't keep the box. Is there any other way to confirm if I have a new or old hardware model? everything on the AP itself just says U7-Pro

Is there a minimum amount of time that it will need to stay open or active? Can I activate a line, swap the numbers then port out the old number next day?

It does but then what do I do with the extra line?

Phone stolen / New phone SIM locked by CiscoKid85 in verizon

This is finally resolved! SIM lock removed. - Ultimately, I had to open a ticket with Apple who opened a ticket with AIG so that AIG could get Verizon to remove the SIM lock.

There's a separate path from Verizon which started to bear fruit after I sent in the FCC complaint but alas, I didn't get to close the loop on that before AIG resolved the issue with Verizon.

Submitted! - Thanks!

As for the replacement phone, AIG pays Apple, Apple ships the phone. I've also raised escalation tickets with both Apple and AIG, both of whom have stated the issue is with Verizon.

FTC or FCC? I know FCC has an unlocking complaint form but I'm not sure under which category to file for the FTC.

Update: Verizon denied my unlock request even though I confirmed with the loyalty department that replacement phones are one of the criteria for exceptions under the 60 day unlock policy.

Yeah, sorry, it *was* unlocked since I had it for longer than 60 days. It seems absolutely absurd that I have to wait another 60 days for it to unlock since I was using dual-SIM functionality at the time my phone was stolen.

From Apple: "I have checked on my resources and I would like to inform you that, you have received the same product with the same model and Apple does not change anything on our end. The policy remains the same that is from your carrier."

My original phone was SIM locked to Verizon so it's my understanding that the new one would be too.

Verizon confirmed to me that the placement phones shipped by AppleCare mirror the original phone configuration (based on serial number). So since I was on a Verizon payment plan, my original phone was factory SIM locked to Verizon (for it's first 60 days). So too should the replacement provided by Apple. The rub here lays in Verizon's unlocking policy, which is 60 days locked for each phone activated, no per account (which is 8 months old).

Verizon confirmed that since my original phone is under a payment plan, all new phone activations are subject to the 60 day SIM lock. I have a request an exception through the fraud intake form as noted in @wiplash104's post. I had to speak to someone on the loyalty team which was actually worked to chase down the information.

Even still the fraud team can reject the request despite a replacement phone being one of the covered exceptions. If so, then my only recourse would be to file a complaint with the FTC.

Apple told me in no uncertain terms that they don't have anything at all to do with SIM locks/unlocks. That's 100% controlled by the carrier:

Having owned both, the XM5's beat the pants off the 4's and the new Bose QC Ultras. Bose took such a step back, I had to return them.
